Fake Blog Entries: Part Two! 🌷

[name_u]Welcome[/name_u] to all the new joiners!
@mimigeorgina [name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I also had several girls in a short amount of time! Our three children are [name_f]Alice[/name_f] who is 3, [name_f]Clara[/name_f] who is 2, and our youngest is [name_f]Violet[/name_f] who is 5 months! We were initially worried when we got pregnant with [name_f]Clara[/name_f] so quickly after having [name_f]Alice[/name_f] (Alice was only 5 months old when I found out I was pregnant with [name_f]Clara[/name_f], and they are only 11 months apart as [name_f]Clara[/name_f] was born early!), but they are so close with each other, and I don’t think I’d have it any other way. By the time I found out I was pregnant with [name_f]Violet[/name_f] we knew we’d be able to handle it! Having a 3 year old, 2 year old, and newborn seemed like it was going to be much easier than having an 11 month old and a newborn! Of course it was still hard, and some of those few weeks seem like a blur now, but it was all worth it for sure! [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is very shy and reserved, and while [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is as well, she’s definitely the more outgoing one, and is willing to try new things, we really feel like [name_f]Clara[/name_f] has helped [name_f]Alice[/name_f] come out of her shell a bit more, and they are already so caring and helpful towards [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. They’re definitely all the best of friends!

@snowmaiden Congratulations, [name_u]Hazel[/name_u]! [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] is a wonderful name, and your girl is so beautiful!

We are reaching the tail end of summer here, and while we are sad to see it go (not really, but we will miss the pool days!), the girls are so excited for fall to be starting! [name_f]Alice[/name_f] won’t officially start pre-k until next year, but she is going to attend a little learning group one day a week this year! They start on [name_m]Friday[/name_m] (the 8th), but the actual days she will attend the group is [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f]! We wanted to ease her into attending school as she struggles with anxiety, and as we are navigating that and starting school soon, we figured out that this would be the best option for our family! The ā€˜class’ is from 9:00 - 12:00, and there is about 12 kids and two or three teachers (depending on the week), we’ve already met the staff, and they seem so kind and while [name_f]Alice[/name_f] has a hard time warming up people, she did seem comfortable in the class room with the teachers! [name_f]Clara[/name_f] was very sad she couldn’t go too but is very excited now that we’ve planned to have a set craft and reading time each [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] when [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is at school! I don’t quite think she realized that we usually do those things everyday anyways, but hey, it works for me if it works for her!
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] will be 6 months in exactly a week, and it’s so bittersweet! She can roll over all by herself, and is learning how to sit up! She adores her sisters, and they love her every bit as much!
In the last 2-3 months I’d say our house has significantly calmed down (while we loved having a 3 y/o, 2 y/o, and a newborn, it was quite chaotic even at the best of times), and we are now learning the grove and schedule that fits best for our family at this stage! Of course now is the time [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] keep begging us to have another baby
[name_f]My[/name_f] husband very much so wants another. Not because he wants a boy, but because he feels like he has so much more love to give to another baby, because he feels like there is a space in our home, that in his mind, already belongs to another baby. I went back and forth for a while, but I too, would love to have another. We’ve tentatively decided to start trying next year for another! Maybe we’ll be the crazy people with a 4 year old, a 3 year old, a 1 year old, and a newborn if things go well?

I hope everyone is doing well! We’re crossing our fingers for some fall weather here now that it’s [name_u]September[/name_u], but also trying to appreciate the last bits of summer.

@readingreverie Your daughters names are sooo sweet! I have a two year old too, maybe we could arrange a meet up?

Today was the last day before school starts, I had some one on one time with my boys taking them to get everything they need. I had to explain to [name_f]Bea[/name_f], that [name_u]Henry[/name_u] won’t be here/around as much and she looked so sad. She then played kitchen and I thought it was one of the cutest things ever! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

[name_f]Ardi[/name_f], [name_m]Cash[/name_m] and [name_f]Hen[/name_f], played football in the garden which they all really enjoyed.

Oh my goodness, so much has happened here since I last posted! I can’t wait to get to know all of you and your sweet families too!

Our little [name_m]Arvo[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] was only three months when I checked in last, so looks like an update is very overdue!

Eight-month-old [name_m]Arvo[/name_m] at the beach... yes, he was still bald at eight months.

IMG_6411

Eleven-month-old [name_m]Arvo[/name_m] enjoying a dip in the pool on our first day of the summer over ninety degrees! He has the most beautiful blond hair - definitely worth the wait for it to grow in, lol!

IMG_6686

And here he is now... thirteen months old! I can't believe it. Our first baby is now a toddler! He is the silliest boy - so crazy and rambunctious. Loves to explore and always makes us laugh. He's walking now, and I'm sure he'll be running soon... not sure we're ready for that!

You may have noticed I said [name_m]Arvo[/name_m] was our FIRST baby…

We found out I was pregnant when [name_m]Arvo[/name_m] was just ten months old! I thought it was impossible to get pregnant while breastfeeding, but [name_m]Launo[/name_m] and I were thrilled. We know we want a big house and want them to be close in age, and you can’t get much closer than this!

There’s just one more surprise… they’re twins!!

I’m three months along now and the babies are both wonderfully healthy. We’ve chosen not to find out the babies’ sexes, just like last time, but we know they’re both going to get Finnish first names like our [name_m]Arvo[/name_m]!

Wishing you all a spectacular and safe fall!

@kiomkio congrats on your pregnancy with twins! That is soo exiting!

Today was the big boys first school day, they both had a good first day. It was nice having some quality time with Bea!

The top picture is Henry, and the bottom one is Ardi & Cash! They are getting so big!

As for Bea, today we did some baking. We made an apple pie, which is her favourite. She had a really great time eating and baking it.

thank you! I first discovered the name on a baby name instagram account. I loved how it was a modern invention but had a witchy, boho feel with its relation to Nox and night. oddly, she’s our only child with light hair so far but the name fits her perfectly!

Today was eventful, so my husband is away on business right now. So it is me, 35 weeks pregnant and four kids. So I dropped the boys off at school, had [name_f]Bea[/name_f] with me obviously. Then when I got home I felt a huge kick and it felt like a contraction. [name_m]Long[/name_m] story short, baby is kicking lots and is very close to their due date.

[name_f]My[/name_f] Bump 🄹

I am sure this baby will be my last as my pregnancy has been really difficult.
So how is everyone else doing?

Today is the last day before Alice starts her learning group, and we are all trying to soak it in! We just can’t believe it. Of course she doesn’t start pre-k until next year, but I feel like she’s so grown up already :sob:
By request of Alice, we’ve also started to plan her 4th birthday party! She’s decided that she wants a bunny, deer, snow themed party, so we’ve been looking at lots of decorations, and she is absolutely thrilled! We’re not exactly sure when her party will be, but when we get a concrete date and time, we’ll share!
Clara’s birthday is 12 days after Alice’s, so she’s also been very enthusiastic about it as well! She hasn’t decided on a theme yet, but she’s been very vocal about the fact that she doesn’t want her party to be at the park, she wants it to be at home so she can spend the day with our two cats, and so her friends can meet them
I swear Violet has been getting bigger and stronger every second. She turns 6 months old tomorrow, and it’s so bittersweet! We feel so lucky to have seen her grow and blossom the past 6 months and can’t wait to see her more, but we also want her to stay little forever.
@melia22 Crossing my fingers baby stays in there at least another week! 35 weeks is so uncomfortable, but getting to 36 weeks is important!
@snowmaiden How have you been? Matilda Sarah’s probably about 2 weeks now, right? Time flies!

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Eeek! So excited for you and the kids, Abby and Annie!

That gorgeous photo of Noxli whining is absolutely priceless. The beautiful truth of being three years old.

The kids look so free and happy. What great pictures! What’s the language(s?) spoken in Mozambique? Anything the kids have picked up from it?

@readingreverie Thank you for the tag; these children keep me moving, but it’s so nice to sit and update from time to time!

I cannot believe Alice will soon be four. And Clara three. What!? Your girls are big kids now! Any photo updates of baby Violet? She must be getting to be interested in so much now.

We are well!

Phineas and Ian wish me to report that they are doing a great job as school. Phineas loves to do science experiments (read: draw and label bug anatomy!), and Ian likes to go to the library with his class (the librarian is our across the street neighbor, who he and Eve — Ian’s bestie who lives next to us and is in his class — love.)

The twins are in preschool three hours a day, five days a week. Oswald is having a really tough time adjusting to preschool, and being with Frances is very little consolation. She is so energetic and bouncy at school, and the times Oswald forgets to miss my partner and I, he follows her lead. But… every morning, there are either tears or refusals. He brings his stuffy, he holds Franny’s hand, and he wears a Mommy-Ozzy prayer bead thing to ā€œtalkā€ to me… poor boy is transitioning! He’s getting there.

Frances takes off her shoes at school and runs in the dirt. She eats her snacks well and comes home with glue in her hair. That’s my girl.

And the baby! Matilda Sarah is, like you said @readingreverie, 12 days old today! (If she hadn’t been born on the 1st, I might have had to do some embarrassing math there.) We thought she’d have a nickname by now, given that she has two first names… but nope. :woman_shrugging:t2: She’s just Matilda Sarah! I like to dream about her nicknames sometimes while she’s asleep. Could she be a Millie one day? Tillie? Maisie, Mara, Massie, Mary, or Missy? We’ll see!

Matilda Sarah is a very observant baby. When she’s awake, she’s awake. Watching Frances sing and dance, watching Oswald color, watching the big boys read or jump out of the lemon trees. Matilda Sarah likes just to be a part of what we’re up to. So that’s what we do! Lots of books from Will, blown kisses from siblings, and boob from me. She’s living her best life.

Baby post-bath a few nights ago. Phineas and Ian gave her her bath, and she loved it!!

One last bit: Matilda Sarah sneezes every day! Anyone got any ideas how to help her curb this? She doesn’t seem to do it for any reason (particles in her nose, illness, etc.) because she’s otherwise fine. Is this a thing?

@snowmaiden thank you! it really is the most difficult thing, to be three years old, isn’t it?

the official language is Portuguese but only around 50% of the population of Mozambique actually speaks it! there are a ton of indigenous languages as well. aside from our one trip into the local village, we were pretty isolated while there, in a rental near the beach. each time we spend a significant amount of time somewhere, the kiddos pick up a few words of the language, but the only language other than [name_f]English[/name_f] that has stuck with them consistently is [name_u]French[/name_u], which they are conversational in. I expect they’ll know a few Turkish phrases by the time we leave here!

we’ve been taking it easy for the last couple weeks, settling in to our new routine here in Istanbul. [name_f]Annie[/name_f] and I are planning some trips within Türkiye, including Ankara, Gƶreme, and Marmaris. she believes it’s too risky for me to go up in a hot air balloon while pregnant… I believe there’s no way im going to Cappadocia and not getting in one! we’re also considering some short trips to [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] or Armenia, depending on time.

the kiddos already have a favorite cafe that we visit almost daily. well, [name_f]Annie[/name_f] takes them almost daily. Turkish coffee is some of the best in the world, and I can’t even drink it! devastating.

[name_f]Annie[/name_f] and I actually had a date night over the weekend! we had a lovely dinner, then took a stroll by the most beautiful mosque. all that, and I only got one photo.

So sorry I haven’t updated in so long! We had a sickness that hit our house pretty hard, and unfortunately we all had it at different times (apart from [name_f]Violet[/name_f], luckily), which is almost worse than having it all at once.
Our lovely [name_f]Alice[/name_f] had her first day at the learning group last week, and we are so incredibly proud. It’s hard not having her here on Wednesdays, even if it’s just for 3 hours that she’s gone. I was sick the day she started, and didn’t want to spend too much time around the kids at drop-off with worry I’d get them sick. She was all healthy then, so we still sent her off! It was so bittersweet, she was very excited to go and see her teachers again, but when we got there she was feeling very nervous. We talked for a while about exactly how her day would go, and that we’d be back to pick her up at noon, and eventually she was good to go in! She seemed to really enjoy it!
Right as I was on the mend poor [name_f]Clara[/name_f] caught the cold as well! I could tell it was hard for her to stay at home all day and not be able to run about like we normally do, but she was luckily still able to enjoy some movies and cuddles the entire time. DH and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] came down with it now! [name_f]Alice[/name_f] has been down for about 4 days, and she’s definitely been feeling better today. She’s been talking about going back to school on [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f], so that’s a good sign! DH just came down with it yesterday, and he says he still feels like he’s been hit by a bus. Poor guy!
On a more positive note, [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is now 6 months old  Our tiny girl has gotten so big the last few weeks, she seems so much older even if she’s only wearing 3 month clothes still! She’s getting closer and closer to rolling over everyday, and has now begun to react to her sisters with noises a lot more! She’s still a little cuddle bug who loves to be held, but she’s also extremely content to just lie in the BabyBjƶrn and kick away for hours! She’s been continually sleeping through the night since about 5 months (usually 8:15 pm - 8:00 am!), and takes naps from 10:00 - 11:30, 1:30 - 2:30, and 4:30 - 5:30. She loves her sleep! Her sisters are constantly talking about how big she is, and are absolutely anticipating the days she can finally crawl and walk! She was born a month early, so she still likely has a long way to go before reaching those milestones, but we can definitely see she’s getting closer each day!
Photo updates of all of the littles! I swear they grow so much everyday!

[name_f]Alice[/name_f] this morning, she still has a bit of a cough, but she insisted on getting ready today and getting flowers for this vase! She’s the most helpful girl even when she’s not feeling 100% herself. Not pictured is the screaming that happened when I told her she could wear those ribbons in her hair, she was ecstatic.

On [name_m]Friday[/name_m] [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and I went and got some grapefruits from a local vendor! They were delicious and little [name_f]Clara[/name_f] began jumping up and down right after I took this photo as she loved it so much! Feat. the sprout hairstyle that I’ve been doing on her since she’s had hair. She still loves it to this day!

[name_u]Baby[/name_u] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] in her Dada’s lap, this photo was taken right after she immediately stopped crying when put in his arms. I swear he’s got some sort of magical powers when it comes to babies, either that or our girls just think he’s the moon and the stars. Most likely the latter is true, and I can’t blame them as I believe it too. This picture is from just a month ago, she was even tinier then than she is now, which is hard to believe!

[name_u]Baby[/name_u] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] on her six month birthday (the 13th). Our year of the rabbit baby in a bunny outfit! I think this might be the cutest outfit she’s ever worn, and I’ve definitely not already put her in it twice since the 13th… Aren’t her chubby little cheeks the cutest? I could just stare and cuddle her all day long. Gosh, how were we blessed with such a beautiful family?

I hope everyone is doing well, and that none of you have caught the same cold we did! How is fall treating you all?
