Fallen Head Over Heels For A Name- Could It Actually Work?

[name]Hi[/name] there,

I feel that I should offer a little explanation before introducing you to the name, but feel free to skip past this straight to the name choice if you wish.

A friend and I recently introduced her little boy to the (wonderful) film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang- I have to admit that I felt as if I was giving the gift of life! Haha, I absoloutely love the film, even as an adult. Anyway, there is a character in the film named [name]Truly[/name], who I also adored as a child, and it really brought the name to my attention once more. Additionally, during a rather huge clear-out a few days ago, I discovered some very old name diaries of mine that I kept as a child in which I had listed the name [name]Truly[/name] (in capital letters, with pink flowers around it might I add).

Now, I have utterly fallen in love with the name. I’m absoloutely head over heels! I think its such a beautiful option and I love it nearly as much as I do the name [name]Piper[/name] (which has been my favourite name for about six years), but I can see it fast becoming its equal. I’ve never been able to imagine seriously naming a child of mine anything other than [name]Piper[/name] until now.

I really like the fact that it would be a virtue name, and I love all the nickname options: [name]True[/name], [name]Lia[/name] etc. However, I am a little concerned that it may be just too out there to work? What do you think?

I have a few combo ideas that I rather like so far:

[name]Truly[/name] [name]Vanessa[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]

[name]Truly[/name] [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Samantha[/name] (I like this, but something seems a little off about it…)

[name]Truly[/name] [name]Penelope[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]

[name]Truly[/name] [name]Penelope[/name] [name]Salem[/name]

None of these are really my usual style, but I think [name]Vanessa[/name], [name]Penelope[/name], [name]Samantha[/name] & [name]Daphne[/name] work rather beautifully next to [name]Truly[/name].

Have you got any good middle name ideas? What do you think of [name]Truly[/name]? Am I crazy for liking it so much?

Thanks so much for any replies, and I apologize for the length of this post!

[name]Truly[/name]. Huh. I can see the appeal as it sounds sweet, and pretty and “Scrumptious”. However, it’s such an adjective! I can’t take it seriously when paired with something as innocuous as [name]Maeve[/name], much less with something like [name]Greene[/name]. It’s like Absolutely [name]Maeve[/name] or Definitely [name]Greene[/name]. Blech.

I agree with [name]Mei[/name] [name]Mei[/name]. It doesn’t really seem like a name.

I like it. My favorite of your combos is [name]Truly[/name] [name]Vanessa[/name] [name]Pearl[/name].

I went to school with a girl named Trulee! I like the traditional spelling better!

Adverb, actually.

I [name]LOVE[/name] it! You should totally use it. It would make a great middle name, as well.

I think it depends on your last name. If it is not something like [name]Black[/name] or [name]Little[/name], I think it would be absolutely lovely.

[name]Ah[/name], whoops. Grammar FAIL. Yes, an adverb describes an adjective.

I dont think [name]Truly[/name] is too out there. [name]Piper[/name] and [name]Truly[/name] would make a really nice sibset imo.

I like [name]Truly[/name] too! Cute! But I would never use it as a first name, only middle. I think it would be find if it was a middle name (Let’s just hope she never marries someone with an adverb last name)

Maybe [name]Maeve[/name] [name]Truly[/name] Lastname ?
