Berries tell me your advice on this problem.
My aunt is due in [name]May[/name] to have their third child, a baby boy, and they want to use family names. So far they have it narrowed down to two favorites. Their two older kids are [name]Nicholas[/name] and [name]Audrey[/name], and their last name starts with F. The names both seem to have a problem:
[name]Perry[/name]: Neither of their kids are old enough to watch man Disney channel shows, so they are unaware that most kids between 2nd grade and [name]Jr[/name]. High will associate the name [name]Perry[/name] with the animated Platypus. I even asked one of my friends about it and as soon as I said “[name]Perry[/name]” she shouted, “the Platypus!” So this is probably out, but how do you tell someone that they will be naming their kid after an animated platypus.
[name]Enzo[/name]: I think Enso is perfectly fine and has cool associations, and its definitely better than [name]Perry[/name], but family thinks it sounds too much like the muppet [name]Gonzo[/name].
Advice? Alternatives?
I really like [name]Enzo[/name]. I NEVER would’ve thought of [name]Gonzo[/name]. [name]Enzo[/name] is pretty different style-wise, I think, than [name]Nicholas[/name] and [name]Audrey[/name].
What about [name]Leo[/name], [name]Caleb[/name] or [name]Pierce[/name]?
Best wishes to them.
I don’t think either of these names will really be a huge issue. Honestly by the time this child gets to school it’s unlikely that [name]Perry[/name] will still be a popular cartoon character. Those kind of shows turn over fast. I happen to love that show (way too old haha but I used to watch it when I was a nanny!) and even if it remains popular it’s not a bad association, he’s a funny character!
I could be pronouncing [name]Enzo[/name] wrong but the only similar sound that I hear to [name]Gonzo[/name] is the O ending. Definitely not a reason to eliminate it, at least in my opinion! I like [name]Enzo[/name] a lot but it does seem a bit odd with [name]Nicholas[/name] and [name]Audrey[/name], [name]Perry[/name] would definitely go better. According to nameberry’s info though, [name]Enzo[/name] is the Italian version of [name]Henry[/name] which would also go nicely [name]Nicholas[/name] and [name]Audrey[/name]!
