Fancying the name, but is it too weird?

I had no idea about the keyboard, so I think it’s fine. It’s a nice sound, plus it’s in the middle, so weird is okay.

I’m a bit confused about the poll though. I voted “yay”, as in “[name_m]Alexander[/name_m] Elessar gets a ‘yea’ from me”, but your initial question was “is it too weird”, so I wasn’t sure if I should actually vote “nay”. Anyway, my “yay” vote is one vote in favour of [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] Elessar.

I knew someone with a similar sounding surname. I think [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] and Elessar have very similar sounds. I personally would not use them together. I think Elessar works if it is to honor. I am not sure of the name otherwise.

That sounds great! Thanks! I’m finding it hard to find any other names that go with it? It has to have some sort of ring to it.

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] that name. I would think you were a big fan of [name_m]Lord[/name_m] of the Rings, though (which is totally fine - I am too) since it is a name of Aragorn’s.

I vote yea for the name, but not too sure on the combo. Wait, does a vote for ‘Yay’ mean you like the name or that it’s too weird??

I’m not a huge fan, but I am a fan. I like Aragorn as a name as well, but I love the sound of Elessar.

Elessar isn’t too weird for the middle spot, but I would pair it with a different first name.

I like the name Elessar, but not with [name_m]Alexander[/name_m].

I like it in the middle!

Any suggestions for a 1st?

Any suggestions for a 1st? or anymore thoughts?

I don’t think it’s too weird, but I don’t like it much with [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] because they are only one syllable away from being almost the same name (phonetically speaking)

Not too weird for a middle name.

Pronunciation would make a difference for me. [name_f]El[/name_f]-ess-ar feels more feminine because it reminds me of [name_f]Alyssa[/name_f] etc, whereas [name_f]El[/name_f]-ess-ar feels more masculine because it reminds me of [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] or Alastor.

But overall considering it’s a middle I think it’s fine, not weird at all, especially compared to some names I’ve seen

Anything goes in the middle, [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is lovely for a first.

I didn’t think of that, thanks! You’re very right about that.

I don’t think it’s too weird at all, especially in the middle name spot.
I would pronounce it the second way, [name_f]El[/name_f]-ess-ar.
