I’ve recently picked up the idea to start writing a novel based on the idea of witchcraft and magic, and the three main protagonists are a group of three sisters, each very different from each other but unified by their family bond.
The oldest is 21-22, and is the legal guardian of the younger two. The next oldest is 17, and the youngest 15. The oldest acts as the parental figure, but doesn’t follow the ‘mother hen’ archetype fully. The middle girl is independent and has a tendency to try and be her own leader, but is often too headstrong and makes a lot of mistakes due to this. The youngest is the peacekeeper, but also has a wild side- she does things her way, in her time, and doesn’t like when anyone criticizes her or tries to rush her. Her fuse is pretty long, but when she’s angry, it’s a hulk-like blind rage.
I’ve been looking into names of pagan-like origins and sounds, and have found the Norse names to fit best. [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f], [name_f]Astrid[/name_f], and other names similar have been inspirations, because they are names found in normal life and are easily read and recognized.
If you can contribute anything, I’d be extremely grateful!

I think [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] is a good fit for the middle one as well.
For the youngest what about:
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] of course would work very nicely
[name_f]Britta[/name_f] is a lovely one too
[name_u]Dagny[/name_u] is fun but maybe a bit more serious
[name_f]Eira[/name_f] is pretty
[name_f]Marit[/name_f] is nice but maybe not Norse-goddess enough
[name_f]Signy[/name_f] is cute
[name_f]Sigrid[/name_f] would fit the -rid ending theme
Torny is derived from [name_m]Thor[/name_m]
Turid another -rid name, though not as pretty
As someone who has named her two daughters [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] and [name_f]Marit[/name_f] because we were intentionally looking for very Norwegian names, I will give you the list of other norsk names we considered
