Farewell Eliza. Hello...?????

Oh, these troublesome husbands and their opinions. LOL! I had the same problem! Husband vetoed [name]Anne[/name] (my all time favorite), [name]Eliza[/name], and [name]Celia[/name]. We ended up with [name]Clara[/name]. Literally the ONLY name we agreed on. Here are some of my other favorites:

It makes me feel better that so many other people have troublesome husbands!

I’m going to try and lobby for [name]Elizabeth[/name] and then I can call her [name]Eliza[/name]. We are still considering [name]Edith[/name] ([name]Edie[/name])…I’m just not having that magical “This is the name!” moment.

We have until [name]May[/name] so I guess I’ll keep trying.

[name]Harriet[/name] nn [name]Hattie[/name]
[name]Acacia[/name] (uh-kay-sha)
[name]Hadley[/name] nn Haddie
[name]Juniper[/name] nn [name]Junie[/name]

Some of the names with your criteria might be

Oh, [name]Eliza[/name] is lovely. Here are some ideas I’ve come up with.
[name]Eva[/name]/[name]Eve[/name] nn [name]Evie[/name] (I prefer [name]Eve[/name])
[name]Maude[/name] nn [name]Maudie[/name]

Okay, so as much as I’ve tried to let go of [name]Eliza[/name], I just can’t! I’ve really been trying to fall in love with [name]Eleanor[/name] because it is the one name that my husband and I both like, but I don’t love it and I’m really not fond of the nickname [name]Ellie[/name].
While I tried to come up with an alternative to [name]Eliza[/name], I started to really like [name]Catherine[/name] and now want that as the middle name. [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]…I really like it and [name]Catherine[/name] is a way to honor my mother [name]Karen[/name] because they have the same meaning.

So, I guess my problem is…how in the world do I convince my husband that this has to be her name! I just don’t know what to do. We are down to 11 weeks or less and it is really starting to stress me out!
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

[name]Shame[/name] - [name]Eliza[/name] is such a gorgeous name!

What about:

I just went through a similar situation with our second daughter - I wanted to name her [name]Eliza[/name] and husband hated it. We ended up choosing [name]Eloisa[/name] - it had the sweet -a sound that I loved with [name]Eliza[/name] but better nicknames ([name]Elle[/name], [name]Lola[/name], lulu, isa, elsie). I love it now! Another name I loved was [name]Louisa[/name] and also [name]Elsa[/name].

I too like the name [name]Eloisa[/name]… very cute. Another suggestion I though of is [name]Eden[/name]. It is timeless and adorable with the nickname [name]Edie[/name]. GL!

Sorry this list is so long. Good [name]Luck[/name] and Best Wishes!

I’ve tried suggesting [name]Elizabeth[/name] with that exact idea, but he is still a no go. I’m trying to fall in love with [name]Eleanor[/name], and I do like it, I’m just trying figure out if that is truly what her name should be.
I know we still have some time, I’m just over anxious to give my baby girl a name.

Suggestions based on [name]Eliza[/name], [name]Eleanor[/name], and your your husband’s picks:

Biblical (based on [name]Benjamin[/name])
[name]Diana[/name] [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Abigail[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]/[name]Catherine[/name], [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Miriam[/name] [name]Eliza[/name], [name]Susanna[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]

Starts with E:
[name]Elena[/name] [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Elodie[/name] [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Ellery[/name] [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Edna[/name] [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Eileen[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]

Three syllable:
[name]Alexa[/name] [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Maria[/name] [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Electra[/name] [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Calixta[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]/[name]Catherine[/name]

It’s a shame that hubby doesn’t like [name]Eliza[/name] personally I love it! [name]Eliza[/name] is up beat and spunky. She’s a lovely name. Have you though of [name]Elizabeth[/name] with the nickname [name]Eliza[/name]? I mean your husband may prefer the idea of [name]Elizabeth[/name] as she’s stately and grounded like [name]Benjamin[/name]. [name]Benjamin[/name] & [name]Elizabeth[/name] sound great together.

[name]Felicity[/name] is pretty, she’s elegant and sophiscated I also like the nickname [name]Flick[/name]. I think this could be a great contender. I also like that [name]Felicity[/name] has a similar vibe to [name]Benjamin[/name].

[name]Marilla[/name] this name feels exotic in a strange way and looks really lyrical. I like this name however I don’t think [name]Marilla[/name] works with [name]Benjamin[/name]. They seem very different!

[name]Josephine[/name] - I love this name! She’s one of my favourites. I think [name]Josephine[/name] just sounds so sweet, innocent and pretty. I love the whole feel of [name]Josephine[/name] and the nickname [name]Josie[/name] is just so cute. [name]Josephine[/name] is adorable. Great choice. She sounds perfect with [name]Benjamin[/name].

[name]Naomi[/name] - I like [name]Naomi[/name] she’s light, airy and attractive. I think [name]Naomi[/name] is elegant and sweet. But I don’t know whether you’d want another religious name (this also makes me wary of using [name]Elizabeth[/name]) both [name]Naomi[/name] and [name]Benjamin[/name] are strongly related to religion and I don’t know whether you’d want to use another religious name in case it makes naming harder in the future, as it may limit your choices.

[name]Georgia[/name] - I dislike [name]George[/name] and his variants thus I dislike [name]Georgia[/name]. I find the name unattractive.

[name]Beatrice[/name] - She’s really grown on me, elegant, regal and sweet. [name]Beatrice[/name] is a gorgeous choice however would you want another ‘b’ name could potentially limit your choices when choosing another name.

[name]Eleanor[/name] - [name]Love[/name]! [name]Eleanor[/name] is elegant, sweet, sophiscated and gorgeous. [name]Eleanor[/name] just oozes simplicity and grace. [name]Lovely[/name] choice. The range of nicknames for [name]Eleanor[/name] are great as well my favourite being [name]Elle[/name]. I think [name]Eleanor[/name] is great.

My favourites for you guys without any flaws or limitations: [name]Eleanor[/name] & [name]Josephine[/name]!

[name]Marian[/name] & [name]Benjamin[/name]
[name]Florence[/name] & [name]Benjamin[/name]
[name]Rosalind[/name] & [name]Benjamin[/name]
[name]Wilhelmina[/name] & [name]Benjamin[/name]
[name]Arabella[/name] & [name]Benjamin[/name]
[name]Primrose[/name] & [name]Benjamin[/name]
[name]Catherine[/name] & [name]Benjamin[/name]
[name]Angelica[/name] & [name]Benjamin[/name]
