My husband and I are expecting our first child in [name_u]January[/name_u]! We are naming her [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] but we’re having trouble choosing a middle name.
What do you think of using my husband’s first name as her middle name? I’m not a huge fan of naming a son after his father (as a junior), but I think it’s a sweet idea for a daughter’s middle name. It’s sort of traditional with a twist? Her name would be [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] O’[name_u]Neil[/name_u].

[name_f]Lilias[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f]
I think the name you are considering sounds great. The names flow beautifully. I also like [name_f]Hope[/name_f] a lot, but [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] works well.
Of the three, I actually like [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] best! Obviously it’s meaningful, and it goes really well with [name_f]Lilias[/name_f]. Go for it!
Usually I wouldn’t, but [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] sounds fantastic! [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] is so feminine and sweet, and actually a little frilly - but the unisex, spunky [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] balances it out! I love it!
I think it’d definitely depend a lot on Dad’s name, but in this case, with [name_u]Cameron[/name_u], I think it works very well. The very feminine [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] balances the more unisex [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] nicely, and with the special family meaning, [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] O’[name_u]Neil[/name_u] is a beautiful name indeed.
I think it works. [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] is pretty unisex to me. While [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] isn’t my cup of tea on a boy or a girl, [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] sounds fantastic!

If you really wanted to, you could add one of your other favorites to it, making it [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f].
I love it! I very nearly gave one of my girls her dad’s name as a middle (would have been [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] [name_u]Jay[/name_u]) and still kind of kick myself for not doing it.
I’m not typically a fan of Juniors/parents names on their kids. [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] is a nice name, but stylistically seems a little off with [name_f]Lilias[/name_f].
If you think it’s sweet and want to do it there’s nothing wrong with it, just wouldn’t be my choice with [name_f]Lilias[/name_f].
That being said, I do like [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] for the middle more than [name_f]Grace[/name_f] or [name_f]Hope[/name_f].
