Like I said in the boys’ thread, I really have no personalities to match to the names, but I’ve always liked [name_f]Marilla[/name_f], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], and [name_f]Anne[/name_f]. I would love to meet little girls named [name_f]Marilla[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and [name_f]Anne[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], actually…

None of these names are really ‘my style’ except [name_f]Anne[/name_f] or maybe [name_u]Ruby[/name_u].
[name_f]Priscilla[/name_f] is okay.

I like [name_f]Anne[/name_f] a LOT as a character, but I just can’t bring myself to use it for one of my combos. Something is missing, I just can’t put a finger on what.

Oh, I adore [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]! And I so want a dog named [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]. I also voted for [name_f]Marilla[/name_f] because she was such a great woman and the nickname [name_f]Rilla[/name_f] is adorable! (on a side note, I was never very fond of [name_f]Rilla[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]).

You forgot [name_f]Stella[/name_f] ([name_m]Maynard[/name_m]) and [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (Andrews)!

I didn’t forget Stella or Jane, but I could only list 10!

oh, silly me! then never mind my ramblings!

[name_f]Anne[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]! Oh to use that as a combo!

I adore [name_f]Anne[/name_f]. [name_f]Anne[/name_f] alone doesn’t work for me, but I’m coming around to using an [name_f]Anne[/name_f] name- [name_f]Annabel[/name_f], [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f]…

I’ve always loved the name Avenly from [name_f]Anne[/name_f] of [name_u]Green[/name_u] Gables. I know it’s not a character name, but think it could easily work as a beautiful girl’s name.

[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is one of my favourite names in general, and has been since I read [name_f]Anne[/name_f] of [name_u]Green[/name_u] Gables for the first time years ago. [name_f]Anne[/name_f] is obviously my favourite character, and I love the name too. [name_f]Diana[/name_f] is another name I adore, though the character’s a bit too demure and passive for me. [name_f]Jane[/name_f]'s a great name too. Character-wise, I love [name_f]Marilla[/name_f] and I’ve even got a little soft spot for Mrs. [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] [name_f]Lynde[/name_f]… ahh there are things I love about basically all the characters! It’s been one of my favourite book series forever. I’m Canadian so I pretty much grew up with it.

For those who love the combo [name_f]Anne[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]- doesn’t [name_f]Diana[/name_f] name her first daughter that?

I am curious why [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] is not popular and [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is far more popular.

Is it because of Lear?

Corn is not a pretty sound, but then neither is [name_m]Cord[/name_m]. [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is my favorite female name, hands down, but [name_f]Cordy[/name_f] as a nickname is as scary to me as [name_u]Corny[/name_u] (and probably more likely than [name_u]Corny[/name_u]).

@lesliemarion- actually, I don’t know. [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] just seems much more elegant to me. Actually Lear is one of my least favourite [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] plays, so it’s not that for me, though [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]'s a redeeming character.

About [name_f]Cordy[/name_f]- haha, I named my phone [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] and that’s one of her many nicknames. I use [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Cordy[/name_f] about the same amount, but sometimes Corla, [name_u]Corrie[/name_u], [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Corly[/name_f] or [name_f]Cordy[/name_f] girl (after the song [name_f]Georgy[/name_f] Girl). Yes, I’m weird, but luckily it’s my phone so it can’t complain. I tend not to give my friends nicknames since they end up being really silly. I called my friend “blossom” for awhile until she told me to stop. :stuck_out_tongue:

[name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Marilla[/name_f], and [name_f]Priscilla[/name_f] are my favorites

I like [name_f]Anne[/name_f] and [name_f]Marilla[/name_f] the best (love the nn [name_f]Rilla[/name_f]).

I love [name_f]Priscilla[/name_f]!

[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] was the favourite off this list but I do prefer [name_f]Stella[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Marilla[/name_f] & [name_f]Priscilla[/name_f]!

I love all of these so much! The series is a part of me.
As for [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] or [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] has the nickname [name_f]Delia[/name_f] which is modern and sweet and cool on it’s own.
[name_f]Shirley[/name_f] is [name_f]Anne[/name_f]'s son and my least favorite on the list. I like [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] much, much better.
The town is spelled Avonlea.
As for my favorite, I keep saying [name_f]Rilla[/name_f] [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] is a top combo for Miss [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] and Miss [name_m]Granger[/name_m].
I know you could only pick ten, but my favorites not listed include [name_f]Una[/name_f], [name_f]Nan[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], (probably real name [name_f]Anne[/name_f]), and [name_f]Persis[/name_f].
I enjoy this list and I appreciate anyone who loves [name_f]Anne[/name_f] as much as I do.
Best of [name_m]Luck[/name_m]!

What about the names from Avonlea?? [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] is one of my favorites.

Gah, I like all of them. My absolute favourites are [name_f]Anne[/name_f], [name_f]Marilla[/name_f], [name_f]Shirley[/name_f] (middle name), [name_f]Diana[/name_f] & [name_u]Leslie[/name_u]. I do like [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] & [name_f]Priscilla[/name_f] too!

I think Avonlea would be pretty as a name
