I’m fond of these somewhat off the beaten path D names. Any thoughts on them? I’m in love with [name_u]Damaris[/name_u] currently since I heard it pronounced in a more beautiful way. [name_m]Mark[/name_m] as many as you like.

How do you say [name_u]Damaris[/name_u]? I always assumed it was duh-MARE-is as we don’t meet many [name_u]Damaris[/name_u]’ in [name_u]California[/name_u], alas. But then a British conservationist pronounced it DAM-a-ris which I found lovely.

I’d assume duh-MAR-is. Sort of like [name_u]Amari[/name_u] [name_u]Cooper[/name_u] the football player.

Maybe not in [name_f]England[/name_f] though? I like how they say things better there usually.

I’d say it more like dam-ah-ris

Sounds right. I’m terrible spelling out the sounds of words.
