Hey,
So I’m currently stuck between two names that I really love for my MC, [name_f]Indie[/name_f] (what she goes by, may be full name or a nickname), and [name_f]Eve[/name_f].
[name_f]Indie[/name_f] sounds really cool to me, and I like the association with “Independence” and being different, like indie music.
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] is just a name I really like, but it might be too “soft” for my MC. Although, I really like the association with All Hallows [name_f]Eve[/name_f]. And if you want to make any suggestions, feel free. I love new ideas. The surname is O’[name_f]Carra[/name_f].
Character description: This is a really new story, so I don’t have a lot of details, but I know she has pale skin, black hair, and hazel eyes. Her father is a hitman, and keeps her close for protection, sending her to an elite private school and carefully selecting her friends. She’s into computer programming and hacking, especially on the deep web. If you want to add what you think a description for those names would be, I’d love to hear it.
Also, if anyone wants to help, do you think the name [name_m]Colton[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Cole[/name_m]) goes with the surname [name_m]Levy[/name_m]? Again, if you have another idea, feel free to suggest it!
Between the two names you suggested, I prefer [name_f]Indie[/name_f]. I think that it’s a bit spunkier than [name_f]Eve[/name_f]. And, pretty though [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is, I think that [name_f]Indie[/name_f] fits your character just a bit better. (Also, I personally prefer the sound of [name_f]Indie[/name_f] O’[name_f]Carra[/name_f] to [name_f]Eve[/name_f] O’[name_f]Carra[/name_f]. I’m pronouncing the surname oh-cah-ra, with the cah- pronounced as in car.)
To answer your second question, I do like the combination of the name and surname [name_m]Colton[/name_m] [name_m]Levy[/name_m], but [name_m]Cole[/name_m] [name_m]Levy[/name_m] feels a bit too clipped to me (Maybe because [name_m]CoLE[/name_m] [name_m]LEvy[/name_m] with -le [name_m]Le[/name_m]- right in a row is a bit too repetitive for my taste, but that’s just me.) Maybe he introduces himself as “[name_m]Colton[/name_m] [name_m]Levy[/name_m], call me [name_m]Cole[/name_m]”?
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps! [name_f]Happy[/name_f] writing!
Thanks for the feedback! I agree with you about the [name_m]CoLE[/name_m] [name_m]LEvy[/name_m] thing, so I’ll probably just call him [name_m]Cole[/name_m] when I’m not using his last name as well.
[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I really like [name_f]Indie[/name_f], it’s super unique and is so fun. I love the name [name_m]Colton[/name_m], but I’m not a fan of it paired with [name_m]Levy[/name_m]. Maybe a longer surname?
I love [name_f]Indie[/name_f]! I’ve never heard it as a name before. Maybe she can have an unusual given name, such as [name_f]India[/name_f] or even Independence, but go by [name_f]Indie[/name_f].
It might just be me, but when I hear the name [name_f]Eve[/name_f] I automatically picture a seductress. [name_f]Indie[/name_f] could be anyone, meaning she has no stereotypes to overcome and she’ll just unfold in the book as you write her.
[name_m]Colton[/name_m] [name_m]Levy[/name_m] flows better than [name_m]Cole[/name_m] [name_m]Levy[/name_m]. If you aren’t set on [name_m]Levy[/name_m] as the surname, maybe you could use [name_m]Colton[/name_m]/[name_m]Cole[/name_m] but spell the nickname Col? It’s slightly more interesting to me. But obviously do what you want, as it’s your story and not mine .
