As I have a brother named [name_m]William[/name_m] I have been looking for a different way to get to [name_u]Billie[/name_u] besides [name_m]Will[/name_m] names. I recently came across [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] nn [name_u]Billie[/name_u] and I loved it so it got me thinking and looking. Here are some ideas I found, what do you think? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have a different idea?
I love [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] and [name_f]Mirabel[/name_f] for [name_u]Billie[/name_u]!!
I also thought of [name_f]Isobel[/name_f], [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u], [name_f]Liberty[/name_f], [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u], [name_f]Briella[/name_f] or [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f]-maybe even [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] though i feel some are a stretch
@kittylitter my naming style tends to be more elaborate traditional names or underused traditional names with spunky nns, but ththe sounds definitely work for nn [name_u]Billie[/name_u].
@greyblue I like the idea of [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] nn [name_u]Billie[/name_u]
I think [name_f]Sybil[/name_f], [name_f]Mirabel[/name_f], [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f], and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] are my favorites so far
I don’t really have any other suggestions, but I love [name_f]Sybil[/name_f], and I think [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]’s great too. There’s also [name_f]Sybilla[/name_f] for a slightly longer choice.
I love [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]. It’s very sweet, but has a strength to it. I can definitely see it on a girly girl or a tomboy, and think it will age well. [name_u]Billie[/name_u] is nice
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] or [name_f]Willow[/name_f] might work. I think perhaps even [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nn [name_u]Billie[/name_u] might work - it might seem like a stretch but [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] has so many nicknames that I don’t think anyone will really notice.
[name_f]Glad[/name_f] to hear [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] nn [name_u]Billie[/name_u] get such positive responses, I also really love [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] nn [name_u]Billie[/name_u] but I’m not sure how ready it is for a revival. Thank you for all the help! I was bummed thinking only [name_m]Will[/name_m] names could work for [name_u]Billie[/name_u] and since I have a brother called [name_m]William[/name_m]/[name_m]Will[/name_m].
Now just to decide what middles to pair with [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], cant decide between (middles are all honors)
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f] [name_f]Clover[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Annemarie[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Renee[/name_f] [name_u]Story[/name_u]
It may be a little late, but recently while reading a book set in ancient times the heroine’s birth name was [name_f]Abigail[/name_f], but in the culture she was raised her name was Bilili. It could be shortened to [name_u]Billie[/name_u] or left as it is. I like the quirky hint of the name [name_f]Lili[/name_f] in the middle of it.
I am still in the process of deciding whether or not to add to my personal name collection,
I think I prefer it the most for [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] - I love the name [name_f]Sybil[/name_f], and I feel like it makes more sense than some of the other names which have a more clear “ell” sound rather than “ill.” Runner-up is probably [name_f]Mabel[/name_f].
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] are my favorite from your list.
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Renee[/name_f] [name_u]Story[/name_u] is really cute! [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Annemarie[/name_f] would be my runner up.
Your list is stunning! With the nickname [name_u]Billie[/name_u], I really like [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Belinda[/name_f] and [name_f]Mirabel[/name_f]. [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] are beautiful options too.
I love [name_f]Melinda[/name_f], but it’s not easy to get [name_u]Billie[/name_u] from this name.
