Favorite Name vs. Namesake

Hello, fellow Berries! [name]Just[/name] wanted to ask a quick question… would you give up naming your child your favorite name in order to name him/her after someone special to you? Let me know what you think…

My dh and I used our favorite names as first names for our children, and we honored relatives by using their names as middle names.

I’d say pick the favorite name and use the namesake in the middle.

I wish I could say I’d put honouring first but I’d just be so disappointed not to get to use my favourite name! I’d probably put the honour name or a creative variant in the middle.
