I love the name [name]Elizabeth[/name] for its classic and feminine feel and how many great Elizabeths there are in history, but I’m looking for a cute spunky nickname to go with it. [name]Liz[/name] and [name]Beth[/name] just aren’t my style.
Any suggestions? I’d love to put a new-ish twist on this classic!
[name]Beth[/name] would be my favorite, closely followed by [name]Libby[/name] (this is a new one for me, but loving it!)
I think [name]Betsy[/name] would fit into the “vintage spunk” if you’re into that style. [name]Etta[/name], also! It may not be an obvious nickname but it definitely works No matter what you choose, it’s hard to go wrong with [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Elle[/name]/[name]Ella[/name] (but not [name]Ellie[/name], haha. I suppose [name]Ellie[/name] would be fine for someone else’s child, though!)
[name]Lily[/name]/[name]Lilibet[/name]
[name]Elise[/name]/[name]Elisa[/name] (works better for the [name]Elisabeth[/name] spelling, imo, though)
[name]Izzy[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Lizzie[/name] (I am too much of a Pride and Prejudice fan to not love this one!)
[name]Libby[/name]
Liddy (not sure it’s a very common nn for [name]Elizabeth[/name], but I’ve heard it in several places lately, and I love it for its Pride and Prejudice cred, too!)
[name]Tilly[/name]/[name]Tess[/name] (also major stretches, but I’ve heard both for [name]Elizabeth[/name], as well, and I love them!)
[name]Tess[/name], [name]Ella[/name], [name]Lily[/name]/[name]Lilibet[/name], and [name]Izzy[/name] are probably my favorites, but I also really love [name]Elisa[/name]/[name]Eliza[/name], [name]Libby[/name], and [name]Lizzie[/name].
I’d have to second [name]Betsy[/name]. That’s what my mom goes by and I feel like you don’t come across many. My grandma went by [name]Lizzie[/name] and wanted my mom to be [name]Beth[/name], but one of her brothers started calling my mom [name]Betsy[/name] and it stuck.
My sister was going to be [name]Elizabeth[/name] nn [name]Ellie[/name], but Dad won the day and now she’s [name]Bryn[/name]. But I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for [name]Ellie[/name].
I think a new favorite is [name]Eliza[/name]. It sounds vintage and quirky, but fresh on a young girl.
I also know a (strangely morose) [name]Libby[/name], but even the association with her can’t dim the feeling the name gives me of spunk and generosity.
[name]Ellis[/name] could also work.
I like [name]Liz[/name] or [name]Lizzy[/name]. Though I had a dog growing up named; [name]Lizzy[/name] ;). LOL. Anyways you could also use [name]Eliza[/name] :).
My favorite is [name]Libby[/name] and next would be [name]Beth[/name]. I don’t like [name]Lizzy[/name] or [name]Liz[/name]. It connects with Lizards and I heard about [name]Lizzy[/name] [name]Bordon[/name] on a movie the other day…wow…not too cool of an association.
