[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_u]River[/name_u] is my favourite! Cute and spunky and really fun to say.
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is stunning and flows really well, but sometimes I trip up on the pronunciation - is is vivi-uhn or vivi-ehn?
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is my favorite, it has a nice flow and I like both names. [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Talia[/name_f] is great as well, but the flow isn’t perfect.
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] - I love this name. It has really great flow and I associate it with the Lumineers song - which is so catchy
My second choice would be [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] - it honours someone which is important to me
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] -[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] has a nice flow. And it has a cool meaning.
[name_f]Bronte[/name_f] -Wow, I didn’t realize that this was a nature name. I think that if you used [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] as a fn, I would assume you’re a fan of the authors. It’s good as a mn though. [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] is lovely.
[name_f]Talia[/name_f] -I really like [name_f]Talia[/name_f], but I don’t love the flow of [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Talia[/name_f]. It’s not too bad; just not my favorite.
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] -This got my vote. [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] sounds gorgeous & vintage. The flow is perfect.
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] -Yeah, it is way over used. [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is a bit ‘s’ heavy too.
[name_u]River[/name_u] -[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_u]River[/name_u] has a nice flow. I just prefer [name_u]River[/name_u] for a boy.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] -I feel like you’re too torn to use this one. [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is pretty for what its worth, but [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is a bit fancy next to [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] in my opinion.
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] flows beautifully, and I love the meaning. But I also think [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_u]River[/name_u] is a great pairing – [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is so girly and vintage, but [name_u]River[/name_u] adds an unexpected edge. And [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] is really daring and pretty! Those would be my top 3 from your list.
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is nice, too. But I definitely agree with @michellem’s comments on [name_f]Talia[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], and [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f].
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] is stunning!! [name_u]Love[/name_u], love the thunder reference. And it’s unexpected which gets my interest. My second choice would be [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]. Flows beautifully and love this meaning as well!
Thank you all so much for the feedback - it’s so useful! Having reasons (e.g. the flow being off, too ‘s’ heavy, one being too ‘fancy’ next to the other) really helps me clarify my own thinking and which things are or aren’t really important to me.
@ehrob1: I’d never actually heard the Lumineers song! It’s definitely catchy. ‘[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]’ always makes me think of the [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] Merchant song, which I love. I’ve always interpreted it as being about the myriad of ways in which women can show their courage and strength and daring, despite being so different in how they express that… though maybe I’m completely wrong!
I should have also clarified that [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is actually an honour name too, although they would be honouring different people. I wonder whether having both first and middle as honour names would leave a lack of ‘self’? And having two middle names, e.g. [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], would probably be too much name.
@michellem: Thanks, I’ve had a soft-spot for it ever since I read a character in a book with that middle name as a kid! But as an adult now, while I love the meaning, I’m not quite as in love with the sound of the name as I used to be. Brontosaurus (which meant thunder lizard!) was also such a cool dinosaur, until they decided it wasn’t its own dinosaur.
