Rafferty is my fav, followed by Rupert

Rafferty - classy, but do not like nn raffy
Rainier - i love this one, I like names that are nice in both french or english like this one
Raphael - growing on me the more i read it, i have a hard time getting past the ninja turtles though
Raymond - the tv show
Roscoe - have two friends with cats named roscoe for me, this just sounds like a pet name
Rudolph - love it, and know an older man named Rudolph who wears it so well, but i can’t imagine this on a kid and not getting teased with the xmas song
Rune - nms
Rupert - cute, kinda wimpy but i love how it sounds and reminds me of the rupert bear series.

[name]Rainier[/name] - on my very own list for possible future son. It’s linked to my beloved late grandfather, my favourite poet and a mountain I’ve never seen, but looks very beautiful from what I’ve seen. And it’s an extremely beautiful name.
[name]Rupert[/name] - fun and sexy. Heavily influenced by dashing [name]Rupert[/name] from [name]Jilly[/name] [name]Cooper[/name]'s Riders. So sexy…
[name]Rafferty[/name] - so fun and cool.
[name]Roscoe[/name] - Midlake’s song [name]Roscoe[/name]
[name]Rune[/name] - a bit of a dad name to me, but nice enough.
[name]Rudolph[/name] - the reindeer, but it’s a fine name.
[name]Raphael[/name] - pretty, very angel-like.
[name]Raymond[/name] - Everybody loves… [name]Raymond[/name].

No [name]Roland[/name], [name]Reginald[/name] or [name]Robin[/name]?

It was a close call between [name]Rafferty[/name] and [name]Raphael[/name], but I went with [name]Rafferty[/name].

@drhenry: Thanks for the comment and vote.

@ottilie: Odd enough that you mention those names! As a child, I adored them. Due to bad relationships with a [name]Roland[/name], [name]Reginald[/name] and a girl named [name]Robin[/name], those names have become “those who must not be named.” I’ve been told that [name]Rainier[/name] is “too [name]German[/name]”. I don’t even know what that means, but I’m drawn to [name]Rainier[/name] more and more these days. [name]How[/name] would you pronounce [name]Rainier[/name]? I’ve never in all my days thought that [name]Rupert[/name] was sexy. I’ve been told that it’s [name]Roberts[/name] British brother and rather nerdy. It’s nice to see the different perspective. [name]Roscoe[/name] by Midlake is rather a nice song. [name]Even[/name] mentions changing his name to [name]Roscoe[/name]. The first evidence of a name fanatic! I don’t know what to make of [name]Roscoe[/name]. It seems so…so. I love the meaning and the feeling draws me. [name]Rune[/name] is so curious to me, again I don’t know what to make of it. I don’t know if [name]Rudolph[/name] and the reindeer is a negative connection. My childhood friend went by [name]Rudy[/name] and the name has been dear since. [name]Raphael[/name] may be too angel-like for me. [name]Raymond[/name] is the name of a dear man to me and a connection I’d like to hold. I know that everybody loves raymond but is that a bad thing. Thanks for your comment.

I like [name]Rainier[/name] best too from this list-- I think of older European/Mediterranean men with it (yeah, heavily influenced by The [name]Thorn[/name] Birds)-- but I think it’s workable for now for young kids too. [name]Ray[/name]-neer is how I pronounce it. [name]Rupert[/name] and [name]Raphael[/name] would be my next favorites on your list. Other R names I like: [name]Roland[/name], [name]Robert[/name], [name]Ralph[/name] (I’ve got to stick this one in now that I’m thinking of TTB), Ranulf, [name]Randolph[/name] [name]Ronan[/name], [name]Rufus[/name], and [name]Richard[/name].

[name]Rupert[/name] - I adore this name, it reminds me of the bear, which I think is a lovely connotation. [name]Reuben[/name] is my favourite boys name and if they weren’t so similar it would be a name on my list without a doubt.
[name]Rafferty[/name] - Again, I really like this name, to me it sounds so happy and bouncy and yet strong at the same time.
[name]Raymond[/name] - I knew a [name]Raymond[/name] and he’s quite lovely. I really like the nn [name]Ray[/name] and also [name]Moe[/name] at which point I start thinking of ‘Five Guys Named [name]Moe[/name]’ [name]Love[/name] it!
[name]Roscoe[/name] - Albeit, I see [name]Roscoe[/name], and I immediately think of scrubs, but regardless, I do like the name, and I like [name]Ross[/name] which could be a nn variation.
[name]Rainier[/name] - I’m not all that sure on how I’m supposed to pronounce this, it’s all the i’s (I know there’s only two but still, I’m confused).
[name]Raphael[/name] - I just feel nothing for this name, I don’t like it nor dislike it, it’s a nice enough name I guess.
[name]Rudolph[/name] - I love [name]Rudy[/name], and I think that it works well as a stand alone name, I know a [name]Rudy[/name]. [name]Rudolph[/name] however, primarily reminds me of the Reindeer, and then of [name]Rudolf[/name] Hess, which is probably a sign that my [name]History[/name] revision is working but isn’t exactly the best of connotations.
[name]Rune[/name] - I don’t even know. NMS.

@shleldsc: Thanks for your input and for voting!

@davlsellu: The description you’ve mentioned makes [name]Rainier[/name] all the more appealing! I’m starting to love it all the more. I also really love Ranulf and [name]Richard[/name]. I don’t know how I could have forgotten the two! Thanks for your comment and voting.

@littleredone: Thank for your comment.

I didn’t know if [name]Rupert[/name] [name]Bear[/name] was a negative connection. I’m glad you don’t think so.
I agree with you about [name]Rafferty[/name]. You put it so perfectly in a way I couldn’t. [name]Happy[/name] and bouncy and yet strong. It makes me love it all the more.
I’m glad you like [name]Raymond[/name]. Most people dismiss it as a grandfathers name, which I don’t think is a bad thing at all!
I love Scrubs and the nn. [name]Ross[/name] for [name]Roscoe[/name].
[name]Rainier[/name] may cause confusion with pronounciation. I say [name]Rainier[/name]: [name]Ray[/name]-nuh.
I see what your saying with [name]Rudolph[/name] and [name]Rune[/name]. I didn’t think of Hess when thinking of [name]Rudolph[/name]. My childhood friend was “[name]Rudy[/name]” [name]Rudolph[/name].

I quite like both [name]Rupert[/name] and [name]Roscoe[/name]. They seem very wearable to me.

I voted for [name]Raphael[/name], but if I could have voted for two [name]Rainier[/name] would have gotten a vote too ([name]Raphael[/name] edged out [name]Rainier[/name] by the slimmest of margins). Pronunciation, for me, with [name]Rainier[/name] is pretty straight-forward, as I grew up near Mt. [name]Rainier[/name] (I say rain-eer). [name]Raphael[/name] feels worldly (like he could be from one of several dozen countries), creative, intelligent and like the name of someone who would go out of their way to help a grandma cross the street. [name]Rainier[/name] evokes a lot of similar thoughts. It also feels very strong (mountain-like) to me.
