I prefer [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] to [name_f]Dagmar[/name_f] and I like [name_f]Signy[/name_f] as well. My favorite Scandinavian name is the name of my grandma and my daughter: [name_f]Karin[/name_f].
[name_f]Annika[/name_f] is a name already on my list, in my old job there was a old lady who rocked the name [name_f]Astrid[/name_f]. [name_f]Freya[/name_f] is a bit too common in my area but it is still a pretty name. I remember a girl in my secondary school was named [name_f]Kaja[/name_f], I think it was Dutch?
I’ve heard [name_f]Kaja[/name_f] used in [name_u]Sweden[/name_u] and Denmark, and [name_f]Kaija[/name_f] in Finland (pretty much the same pronunciation). It’s quite pretty.
I love [name_f]Dagmar[/name_f] (<3) and Freya, but I feel a need to correct that in Denmark (I’m not sure where else in Scandinavia) we spell it with a j. I’m also madly in love with the names Signe and Ravnhild (Ragnhild)
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is my favourite name ever and [name_f]Dagmar[/name_f] is ravishing as well
A few suggestions:
Alvilda
[name_f]Elva[/name_f]
[name_f]Frida[/name_f]
Frigg/Frigga
Gry
[name_f]Ida[/name_f]
[name_f]Johanne[/name_f]
Regitze
[name_f]Saga[/name_f]
[name_f]Tuva[/name_f]
Vigga
That varies. I know more Freyas than I know Frejas.
The ones I voted for are the common ones [name_f]Annika[/name_f], [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and [name_f]Linnea[/name_f].
The others are a bit harsh sounding and I can’t picture them on a [name_u]North[/name_u] American girl.
Other Scandinavian names that I like the sound of are:
[name_f]Brigitta[/name_f]
[name_f]Britta[/name_f] (too bad about the water filter)
[name_f]Hilde[/name_f] (It’s pronounced [name_f]Hildy[/name_f])
[name_f]Petrina[/name_f] (I knew a lovely girl with this name)
[name_f]Suren[/name_f] <3 I love Seren too, but that’s Welsh
Liv
Marit
Marja
Kelda or Kelta (I know a girl named Kelta, but it’s a nn, not sure if it’s Scandinavian, but it is similar to Kelda)
