I love names with z sounds in them, as likely as in the middle of the name as the beginning initial.
I also love [name_u]Galen[/name_u], [name_m]Martin[/name_m], [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f], [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f], [name_f]Clarimond[/name_f]… names that end in a consonant, often an n or d.
I noticed that my top 3 boys’ names ([name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]) all have a “u” in them, though they are different sounds. For girls, my favourites ([name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Celia[/name_f], [name_f]Pandora[/name_f], [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], etc.) are generally very “l”- and vowel-heavy.
I live strong vowels sounds - especially names starting with E or containing an ‘eye’ sound. My favourite name is [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] which fits pretty well! I also like strong A (like [name_m]Ah[/name_m] or Ay), Ee or Ohs.
I love strong I sounds ([name_f]Sarai[/name_f], [name_f]Heidi[/name_f], [name_m]Isaac[/name_m], [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m]), strong o sounds ([name_u]Arlo[/name_u], [name_m]Otto[/name_m], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_u]Toby[/name_u], [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], [name_f]Juno[/name_f]) and names with Rs in them ([name_f]Sarai[/name_f], [name_f]Romilly[/name_f], [name_u]Tristan[/name_u], [name_f]Ilaria[/name_f])
My top three are [name_f]Viola[/name_f], [name_f]Cosima[/name_f], and [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], so I definitely have a thing for O sounds in girls’ names! A lot of my favorites start with C, as well.
I’ve always liked the frilly [name_f]Ama[/name_f]- family of names—[name_f]Amalia[/name_f], [name_f]Amaya[/name_f], [name_f]Amara[/name_f], [name_f]Amabel[/name_f], etc. Other patterns that jump out are Z’s and ph- spellings.
For boys, it’s A- (like in “apple”) sounds and -N endings. Pretty typical stuff.
I really like consonant heavy names/ names that end in a consonant. I also like consonant blends a lot (Fr, Sv, Gr, ect.) My favorite letters in names are S, F, L, K, V, and T. I prefer a name sounding soft (short vowel sounds) and short (few syllables).
