Syrah is a type of wine, so not that.

The only way I know of this name is Sirah, (pronounce sigh-rah) who is a musician/singer of sorts.

Good point. I think I read that before, too. The name doesn’t scream alcohol, though, right? I wouldn’t know, I’m not that familiar with alcohol…For example, if the name was spelled [name]Cyra[/name], it wouldn’t be up there with “Hennessy” or “[name]Chardonnay[/name]” in associations, hopefully?

Woah, never heard of that artist! My curiosity will get the better of me :stuck_out_tongue: Oh, noticing your sig, [name]Lachlan[/name] is my #1 boy name!

[name]Cyra/name reminds me of [name]Cyrus[/name] so I pronounced it SIGH-ra at first glance. You might have some trouble, but I don’t think it’s going to be a constant thing.

I went for Syra, bc I think it’s pretty straight forward and I’m not into extra 'h’s at the best of times.

I’ve only heard her featured on Skrillexs songs, so that would be a good place to start. Be wary of … inappropriate lyrics if you are easily offended haha, checking out some of her solo music right now too.

[name]Cyra[/name] is the cleaner, most classic and obvious spelling - thanks to the [name]Cyrus[/name] connection. Also, [name]Cy[/name] would natrually be pronounced [sai], whereas Ci/[name]Si[/name] would imply [see]. The “h” is messy and unnecessary in most cases.

Saira is another possibility - also a legitimate Japanese name.

I would go for [name]Cyra[/name]. It seems most familiar because of the boys’ name [name]Cyrus[/name]. I think I’ve even heard that it’s the female variant? Either way, I think [name]Cyra[/name] [name]Gabrielle[/name] B@xter is lovely.

Good luck!

I’ve only seen it spelt Saira, which isn’t on your list. I think it looks really nice that way, but I guess you may still get [name]Sarah[/name] pron. with it as it’s got the -air- in the middle. If you want to guarantee the [name]Sy[/name]-ra prn I’d go with [name]Cyra[/name], like a couple of PPs have said because of it being close to the familiar boys’ name [name]Cyrus[/name].

Saira or [name]Cyra[/name] I think.

[name]Cyra[/name] is a very nice name I’ve never come across. This spelling seems more familiar, and it is the actual Persian feminine variation of [name]Cyrus[/name]. It also seems like the most genuine name of the spelling variations you listed. Maybe they aren’t all, but the rest feel made up.

As an unnecessary but funny side note, when I first read SIGH-rah in the topic, I read it as SIGA-rah, and thought you were looking for a spelling variation of ‘cigarette’ or ‘cigar’

Syra or [name]Cyra[/name] seem the most straight-forward to me, and they look nice.

I think [name]Cyra[/name] or Syra would work…

I like Cyrah the best, but [name]Cyra[/name] would also work.
I think I prefer Cyrah because it’s the closest to [name]Cyrus[/name] with a similar pronunciation.

All the Sir ones I would pronounce “sur” or “seer”. And [name]Cira[/name] I would probably pronounce “[name]Kira[/name]”

I think [name]Cyra[/name] would be the best spelling for the pronunciation you want.

I think Cyrah is beautiful.
Part of the reason I love names so much is not just how they sound but how eye appealing they are.

This exactly, I think with almost any spelling she would have to correct some people, but this one gets the closest to the pronunciation you want for me

From the pronunciation, I assumed Saira… but that’s not on the poll! I think this is a nice variation on [name]Sarah[/name].
