[name_f]Margery[/name_f] doesn’t seem like a made up spelling at all. It looks phonetically sound. I personally prefer [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] and voted for it, just because I thought it looked more like the [name_m]French[/name_m] pronunciation.

I recall another thread with the history of this name, and how [name_f]Margery[/name_f] is older. However, [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] is also old with a long-established history (kind of like [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]/[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]). I personally think [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] is a much prettier spelling because the “j” seems merry whereas the “g” feels heavy. [name_f]Margery[/name_f] also reminds me of margarine, and could get mixed up with [name_f]Margaret[/name_f].

I prefer the [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] as it feels more ‘right’ to me.
