What are some of your favourite associations that either add a little extra charm to an already favourite name or make you like a name more?

[name_m]Even[/name_m] though we have two girls’ names already and I typically like lesser known names, I will always love [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] (if we ever have 3 girls, maybe a middle?) from Pride & Prejudice, from [name_m]Pygmalion[/name_m] (My Fair Lady) and a few other literary references. It reminds me of the softness of spring transitioning into the boldness of summer.

  • [name_f]Ginevra[/name_f] Fanshawe → from [name_f]Villette[/name_f] by [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Bronte[/name_f], which is my favourite book, but also, she’s my favourite character, who I wrote my MA dissertation on :slight_smile:
  • [name_f]Ginevra[/name_f] is the Italian name for [name_f]Geneva[/name_f] which links to [name_f]Mary[/name_f] Shelley’s Frankenstein, another fave
  • Linked to [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] which reminds me of the BBC show [name_m]Merlin[/name_m] which was my fave as a teen

I also have lovely associations with [name_f]Lou[/name_f] / [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]!

Aside from [name_m]Alcott[/name_m] and connecting it with the latin root for light, I like a couple of songs with the name!
