Thanks, @copper_porcupine! I used to think that [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] nn [name_m]Colm[/name_m] was good, but then I realized that it was actually pronounced [name_m]Cole[/name_m]-um. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, & really only sounds good w/an Irish accent. I don’t think I’d be brave to use it enough in the U.S. As for [name_u]Julian[/name_u], I love just [name_u]Julian[/name_u] or maybe the nn [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. But dh’s cousin just had a baby boy called [name_u]Jules[/name_u]; just [name_u]Jules[/name_u]. And his big brother is Fr@ncis. Cute for brothers, huh?
I’m going to do your list from my favorite to least favorite w/comments:
Jude-Yes, I like it on its own too! It’s so quiet & thoughtful, but also dashing, handsome & strong.
Gabriel-Such a beautiful classic. It’s like [name_u]Jude[/name_u] in that it’s totally manly, but soft & gentle sounding at the same time. I have [name_m]Gibson[/name_m] on my list mainly for the nns [name_m]Gib[/name_m] or [name_m]Gibby[/name_m]. But I actually kind of love [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] nn [name_m]Gib[/name_m]/Gibby.
Elliot-Charming, smart, classic, a little quirky. Great name. I really prefer [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] though, because it just looks more balanced.
Desmond-Dashing, smart, masculine handsome & kind name. It’s simple, but I don’t see it that often. And I love the nn [name_m]Dex[/name_m].
Elijah- This is another one that’s a masculine classic, but has the beautiful sweet sound too. Something about the ‘jah’ is just so serene. But it’s still totally a boy name. It’s super popular though, but for a good reason.
Caspian-I kind of like the sound of it, but it doesn’t quite do it for me.
Isaiah-A perfectly nice name, but I just don’t care for it. I like [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] & [name_m]Josiah[/name_m], so I should like this.
Felix-It’s okay. Kind of too quirky for me, honestly. And I like quirky boy names. It just seems hard to take seriously.
Tobias-Another name that I should like, but doesn’t do much for me. [name_u]Toby[/name_u] just sounds dopey for some reason.
Gavin-I used to like this name, but I don’t know. It just sounds kind of bro-ish.
