favourite names as a child

what were your favourite names when you were young, like early teens or child?
My favourites were [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_f]Anne[/name_f], [name_f]Freya[/name_f], [name_f]Opal[/name_f], Beatrix, Eliza and [name_f]Petra[/name_f]. Then later Anastasia, Alexei, Olga, Maria and Tatiana as i read about the Romanovs. When i was really young i wanted to name a daughter Bambi lol

I loved [name_f]Kayley[/name_f], [name_f]Hailey[/name_f], and [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] back in the early 2000s!!!

Over time I fell in love with [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_f]Annika[/name_f], and then also some dated names like [name_f]Denise[/name_f] and [name_u]Dominique[/name_u] - it’s been a weird journey. I still love those names.

For boys, I liked [name_u]Dallas[/name_u], [name_m]Ian[/name_m], [name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_m]Connor[/name_m], [name_m]Liam[/name_m], [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], [name_u]James[/name_u] and for girls, I liked [name_f]Sadie[/name_f], [name_u]Mandy[/name_u], [name_u]Georgie[/name_u], [name_f]Stella[/name_f], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Makena[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], [name_u]Macey[/name_u], [name_f]Lacey[/name_f], [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], & [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. I don’t really care for most of them now, but some are still on my list.

I loved [name_f]Cadence[/name_f], [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], and [name_u]Tegan[/name_u] for Girls from what I recall.

For a long time [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] was my choice names for boys. Can’t recall others, I loved [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] since I was 19 so…

Most of them are still solid names.

I don’t remember all the names I liked but I know they included [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u], [name_m]Obediah[/name_m] and one of the more simple one’s I loved was [name_f]Alexandrina[/name_f]. I also remember strongly believing that [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] should always be [name_f]Ekaterine[/name_f] and people should always use the longest possible form of a name; so no [name_f]Alexa[/name_f]'s, she should be [name_f]Alexandrina[/name_f] because it allows for more nicknames.

I also used to write lists of names and every one of them had at least 3 middles.

So despite having [name_m]Beowulf[/name_m] in my signature, my naming style has actually settled down a lot!

My top ones when I was about 10, were [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Freya[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m] & [name_m]Oliver[/name_m].

[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is still my number 1 (well, it ties with [name_u]Jesse[/name_u]) name for a boy. Still like [name_m]Jack[/name_m] but prefer [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]. I dont like [name_f]Ella[/name_f] or [name_f]Freya[/name_f] anymore.

As a kid, I loved [name_f]Phillipa[/name_f], [name_f]Talullah[/name_f], [name_u]Alfie[/name_u], [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]. As a young teen, I liked [name_f]Jessica[/name_f], [name_f]Tilly[/name_f], [name_u]Mandy[/name_u], [name_f]Lorilyn[/name_f], [name_f]Nixie[/name_f], [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] and [name_u]Emlyn[/name_u]

I do still love some of them, but others, not so much

[name_f]Alyssa[/name_f] was my favourite girl name for years when I was younger. [name_f]Alyssia[/name_f] too. I still love both names but I don’t know if I’d use them… Maybe. And for a boy it was [name_u]Noah[/name_u] and [name_u]Kayden[/name_u], the former I can’t use as it’s my nephew’s name and the latter I don’t like anymore.

[name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] and [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]

[name_f]Abigail[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] was my favourite name from the time I was 8 until I was maybe 12. I also loved [name_f]Juliana[/name_f]. [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] was my favourite boy name.

[name_f]Abigail[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] was my favourite name from the time I was 8 until I was maybe 12. I also loved [name_f]Juliana[/name_f] when I was little. I begged my parents to name my sister that if I had had one. When I was 13, my favourite girl name was [name_f]Liesel[/name_f]-[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]. [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] was my favourite boy name when I was little.

I used to love [name_m]Archibald[/name_m] for a boy and [name_u]Lexi[/name_u] for a girl. [name_m]Archibald[/name_m] has got back on my list, but [name_u]Lexi[/name_u] still remains off of it.

[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is the only combo that has survived through the years!

Other combos that I can remember:

[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]

[name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m]
[name_u]Logan[/name_u] [name_m]Cole[/name_m]

[name_f]Rose[/name_f] has always been my top girls names, but the others gradually changed over time. As a young child I liked [name_f]Rachel[/name_f], [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f], Rahab, [name_u]Cody[/name_u], Zacharina, and [name_f]Kimberley[/name_f] for girls and [name_u]Dustan[/name_u], [name_u]Cody[/name_u], [name_m]Zack[/name_m], and [name_m]Rhett[/name_m] for boys.

As I grew older and started reading more, my love for names expanded into things such as Rhodopis, [name_f]Artemisia[/name_f], [name_f]Persephone[/name_f], Orynthia, and [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] for girls and Ganymede, Galahad, [name_m]Percival[/name_m], [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m], [name_m]Eugene[/name_m], and [name_m]Saxon[/name_m] for boys.

I also went through of phase of loving really masculine names for girls like [name_u]Cody[/name_u], [name_m]Zack[/name_m], [name_m]Rowdy[/name_m], [name_m]Reb[/name_m], [name_u]Toby[/name_u], and [name_u]River[/name_u] and softer names for boys like [name_f]Jade[/name_f], [name_u]Mel[/name_u], [name_u]Valentine[/name_u], [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f], [name_u]Remy[/name_u], [name_u]Elias[/name_u], [name_u]Shay[/name_u], and [name_u]Ali[/name_u] (I still like most of these.

I also really liked misspelled and made-up girls names at one point (a couple of my cousins are biracial and have names like Tashayrina, Sh’[name_m]Von[/name_m], and Jurianne) and so that brought on my obsession with [name_f]Katelynne[/name_f], Kellynne, Tobiannah, Sarannah, and Keyleigh. This didn’t seem to bleed over into my boys names, which have stayed relatively stable since I was a young teenager.

[name_f]Sophia[/name_f] was one of my first loves. Never imagining the name would become so popular. [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] was next. I loved [name_u]Brooke[/name_u], [name_u]Skye[/name_u] and [name_u]Doone[/name_u], then [name_f]Freya[/name_f] as I became passionate about poetry in secondary school.
[name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] has remained my longest favorite name.

I’ve liked [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Marie[/name_f] since I was a kid and [name_m]Leon[/name_m]. I was very much a fan of “old man” names when I was younger. I LOVED [name_m]Alan[/name_m] and [name_m]Roger[/name_m] for brothers.

I also had some odd names on my list like [name_u]Neo[/name_u], Richter, [name_f]Jinx[/name_f]/Jinks, & Pyro.
Boys names have always come easier to me. I don’t remember liking many girl names outside of [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Marie[/name_f] and [name_f]Jinx[/name_f], haha.

I don’t remember them all now, but when I was young (like 8) I loved the name [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]. I thought it sounded so glittery and sparkly and musical, like a fairy. I wanted to change my name to [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] for years. In my teens and well into my 20’s my favorite girls name was [name_f]Rose[/name_f], simple but classy. My boys names haven’t changed much since my teens [name_u]Noah[/name_u] has always been on my list, [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] fell off and was replaced by [name_u]Kai[/name_u] and later I added [name_m]Felix[/name_m] and now that list has pretty much remained unchanged for nearly a decade.

Some of you had great taste as kids, mine wasn’t as good XD I had a baby names book I was obsessed with when I was about 10, here were some of my (weird) favourites: [name_m]Leighton[/name_m], [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] (f), [name_m]Ashby[/name_m], [name_f]Krista[/name_f], [name_f]Jenna[/name_f], Fairley (f, apparently a nn for [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], which I still like), [name_f]Leilani[/name_f], [name_f]Hana[/name_f].

There were definitely more, but I can’t remember them. I do remember some of my fave combos from my older teens: [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_u]Harper[/name_u], [name_m]Edward[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m], [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u], [name_m]Daniel[/name_m][name_m]Harry[/name_m], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]. I still like most of those names, I’m just tired of most of them now.
