I know that this has probably been posted many times before but I thought I’d start a new thread.
The other night I was looking through my computer and found a list of names that was written when I was 6-8 years old (I was obsessed with names even then). I was surprised to find that a lot of my favourite names back then, are still ones I like now. My favourite I found on that list was [name]Amoret[/name]. I also found [name]Gemma[/name], [name]India[/name], [name]Beryl[/name], [name]Rose[/name], [name]Deirdre[/name], [name]Cordelia[/name], [name]Ruby[/name], [name]Soleil[/name], [name]Story[/name], and [name]Saoirse[/name].
I also found ones that I would never use today because they’re too popular for me, or just downright not my style anymore: [name]Chloe[/name], [name]Ellery[/name] (rhymes with celery), [name]Harper[/name], [name]Honor[/name], Cassabelle, [name]Crystal[/name], [name]Robin[/name], [name]Carey[/name]…
What names did you like as a kid? [name]Do[/name] they even remotely resemble your name tastes today?
My earliest memory is playing schools with my sister and we would fight over who would be [name]Mary[/name] and who would be [name]Rose[/name]. We then discovered [name]Rosemary[/name] and it was ON! I then loved [name]Angela[/name] at about 10 haha.
My first list was written at about 14 (10 years ago) and the girls names are awful! Boys are OK. From the top of my head:
I liked:
[name]Alyssa[/name]
[name]Ashley[/name]
[name]Britney[/name]
[name]Evangeline[/name] (first name I loved I think)
[name]Rebecca[/name]
[name]Alison[/name]
[name]Melody[/name]
[name]Ariel[/name]
[name]Eric[/name] (I wanted to name my baby brother [name]Eric[/name] soooo bad.)
[name]Nikki[/name] [name]Cheyenne[/name]
That’s all I can remember atm.
My tastes now are more elaborate and less common/plain for girls.
I liked Karalai (Car-uh-Lie sorta like [name]Lorelei[/name] ) for a girl and [name]Noah[/name] for a boy. My taste have changed so that I wouldn’t use either one. I also associate [name]Noah[/name] with an EX so I won’t use that even though there is nothing wrong with a boy named [name]Noah[/name].
I found this list from when I was thirteen, so approximately five years ago. My taste still has some common threads, but it has evolved, to say the least. I do think it’s interesting that [name]Julia[/name] [name]Eloise[/name] was my number one girls’ name then, and [name]Eloise[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] is my number one girls’ name now. [name]Eloise[/name] is obviously a big winner with me ^.^
I remember when I was 3 my dad asked me what I’d name my kids. I said [name]Sasha[/name] and Cardy. Cardy was a boy.
Lol I came across a notebook a while ago. When I was a kid I used to pick out names and cut out magazine pictures of kids, and create my family.
Here it is:
[name]Lewis[/name] -9 years old
[name]Beth[/name]-8 years old
[name]Courtland[/name] - 5 years old (boy)
[name]Billy[/name] & [name]Benji[/name] - twin 3 years old boys
[name]Davina[/name] - 1 year old girl
