Have you any names you’ve created (using various syllables that you like a lot/smooshes of two names etc.), but are not exactly ‘true’, legitimate names? If so, what have you come up with, and if not…why not give it a go? What sounds/appearances do you like that could work with others, whether they could work on a person today, or not?
Let loose; have fun.
ETA: Edianthe is the only unique one I’ve come up with and liked so far…ee-dee-AHN-thuh.
I’ve created a number of them for fantasy characters, but am wary to share due to desire of anonymity. I did use the name Rosabeth a few years back, but have since seen it in a few archives.
I’m not really sure if it counts as made-up… but a while ago the blog featured the name [name_f]Dulcibella[/name_f], and mentioned that Dulcibelle and Dulcibel were possible variations. Instant swoon. I fell in love with Dulcibel.
Some I am making up now…
Millybelle
Holliwen
Altarose
Mirabeth
(You might have noticed that I like three syllable names with the accent on the first)
Lenawen
I love the name Sophena. I think it’s an elegant take on [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]. Apparently Sophina is an uncommon name when you Google it, but it just looks so much better with the ‘e’!
Monaecia/Monacia- Mon-AY-see-uh (still convinced this is a real name, it might be a place name, but I did think I made it up)
Xinnaea- Zih-NAY-uh (No relation to [name_f]Linnaea[/name_f] or [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f])
Saphora, originally Saffaura; a smoosh of [name_f]Saffron[/name_f] and [name_f]Isaura[/name_f]
Endrana, a smoosh of Endora and [name_f]Morgana[/name_f]
