February with nn Rory?

I’m not having a baby or anything, but I was just thinking about February. There are a lot of month names already, so why not February? And I thought [name_u]Rory[/name_u] could be a cute and ‘normal’ nn for it. Wdyt? Ridiculous? Meh? Could work? [name_f]Lovely[/name_f]? Be blunt

Someone brought up this name a few weeks ago, I think. It isn’t so bad, especially with the nn potential ([name_u]Rory[/name_u], [name_m]Ebb[/name_m], [name_u]Berry[/name_u], Airy). Month names aren’t my favorite though. I think there are just better choices…including [name_u]Rory[/name_u] as the given name.

I think this is ridiculous, especially here. I can’t see how [name_u]Rory[/name_u] can come from it as a nickname either.

Here, as in UK or…?

I think [name_u]Rory[/name_u] as a nn from February is a stretch… Sorry :-/

Regardless of where “here” is, I agree with @renrose.

I like it and I like [name_u]Rory[/name_u] but I don’t think [name_u]Rory[/name_u] works as a nickname for February. [name_u]Rue[/name_u] would be a better choice. As month names go, I think it is prettier than [name_f]April[/name_f] or [name_u]June[/name_u].

People already mispronounce February, and it is a common word we use all the time! Also, I do not see how [name_u]Rory[/name_u] could work as a nickname. Maybe [name_u]Rue[/name_u] would, only if you pronounced the first R in it, which most people do not.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] was I was going to say… people pronounce February wrong everyday; Feb-ROO-ary vs. Feb-U-ary. It’s a tricky word, never mind as a name.

I don’t like it. I understand people think these names are cool and quirky (even I think [name_f]Tuesday[/name_f]/[name_f]Sunday[/name_f]/[name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] and [name_u]August[/name_u]/[name_f]October[/name_f] are pretty adorable… Sixteen is a gp of mine too) but every time, I just imagine having them as my name… I’d absolutely hate it. I don’t really understand the mindset of wanting to use any of them for a human child.

[name_u]Rory[/name_u] doesn’t work in my opinion.

I’m not a fan of either name but I think [name_u]Rory[/name_u] is fine as a nn. I think a nn is up to the family.

I like February (and month names in general) but due to the difficult pronunciation, I like it more as a middle name. I don’t like the name [name_u]Rory[/name_u] much, so as a nickname I’m not a fan; I think [name_u]Rue[/name_u] would be a cute nickname.
