Feedback and Thoughts!

I have been playing around recently with some name combinations and I have come up with a few which I am looking for you guys to judge! Nothing is set in stone and I am looking for any suggestions. You can move the names around or drop some if you do not like them or if they just don’t make any sense!

[name_f]Nathalie[/name_f] [name_f]Asta[/name_f] (Pronounced ow-sta)
[name_f]Maren[/name_f] [name_f]Sabine[/name_f]
[name_f]Klara[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]
[name_f]Eline[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_f]Maja[/name_f] [name_f]Katharina[/name_f]

Thank you in advance for your feedback and for the feedback from my earlier post, where I dropped a couple names and added some news ones!

[name_f]Nathalie[/name_f] [name_f]Asta[/name_f]- I read [name_f]Asta[/name_f] as AAH-stuh, like the A sound as in apple, which I prefer over ow-stuh. I know it’s just a slight difference, but I really don’t like how Ow-stuh sounds. I have no complaints about [name_f]Nathalie[/name_f], but the middle really kills it for me.
[name_f]Maren[/name_f] [name_f]Sabine[/name_f]- This name is nice. I like most [name_f]Mar[/name_f]- names personally, and [name_f]Sabine[/name_f] is very pretty too.
[name_f]Klara[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]- I am not a fan of [name_f]Klara[/name_f] or [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] individually, but I suppose this name has an alright flow to it.
[name_f]Eline[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f]- I like both names in this combo, but I would probably swap them around. [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Eline[/name_f] just feels like it flows better, but that might depend on hw the whole thing sounds with your last name.
[name_f]Maja[/name_f] [name_f]Katharina[/name_f]- So I’m pretty sure [name_f]Maja[/name_f] is pronounced My-uh, in which case I don’t like this spelling. (I guess it depends where you’re from. If it works where you live, then ignore me.) I prefer the [name_f]Maia[/name_f] spelling. [name_f]Katharina[/name_f] is a beautiful name though, and I think this name pair flows nicely.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!

@vestigesofsummer There should be an accent mark over the “A” in [name_f]Asta[/name_f], but I was not sure how to put it there. The accent mark is what makes the name sound like OW-stuh instead of [name_m]AH[/name_m]-stuh! I probably should have clarified that in the original post haha It is a family name and has been used by many women in my family, many of which live in Scandinavian countries!

[name_f]Klara[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]
[name_f]Maja[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]

[name_f]Nathalie[/name_f] [name_f]Asta[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] [name_f]Aster[/name_f], with these spellings and the correct “Ass-ter” pn
[name_f]Maren[/name_f] [name_f]Sabine[/name_f] - this is nice, though I would prefer to see [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f]
[name_f]Klara[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] - [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is one of my favourite names, please dont ruin it with a K
[name_f]Eline[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f] - these sound like the same name. [name_f]Helen[/name_f] is a form of [name_f]Elin[/name_f]…
[name_f]Maja[/name_f] [name_f]Katharina[/name_f] - [name_f]Maya[/name_f] (pn [name_f]May[/name_f]-uh) [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] would be nicer

@carysmarie I never realized that [name_f]Eline[/name_f] and [name_f]Helena[/name_f] were variants of each other. That is really good to know so then I can either swap names or create new combos with them! Thank you!

[name_f]Nathalie[/name_f] [name_f]Asta[/name_f] (Pronounced ow-sta): Very cute! [name_f]Nathalie[/name_f] is underused, this spelling is so much spunkier than [name_f]Natalie[/name_f]. Not sure I’m fond of the pronunciation of [name_f]Asta[/name_f] - I like it pronounced ass-ta or ah-sta. The flow with ow-sta is a little strange
[name_f]Maren[/name_f] [name_f]Sabine[/name_f]: Great! There’s nothing bad I can say about this combo.
[name_f]Klara[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]: I really like this actually! [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is growing on me. I have no problems with the spelling of [name_f]Klara[/name_f]
[name_f]Eline[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f]: To me, it feels like they’re too similar to be put together
[name_f]Maja[/name_f] [name_f]Katharina[/name_f]: [name_u]Love[/name_u] this spelling of [name_f]Maja[/name_f], and [name_f]Katharina[/name_f] is great. Normally I’m not a fan of combos ending in the same letter/sound, but it actually gives a little spunk to this name.

[name_f]Maja[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] is really pretty.

I like [name_f]Clara[/name_f] a lot but not with a K, it just looks really plastic this way.

[name_f]Maren[/name_f] is really pretty, but doesn’t have that umph for me it’s still a great name though.

I prefer [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] spelled this way I think people would confuse pronunciation any other way.

I like [name_f]Nathalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Maren[/name_f] best of the list.

[name_f]Susan[/name_f]

[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] would be my choice (no K!)

[name_f]Maren[/name_f] [name_f]Sabine[/name_f] is lovely!!!

catherinak, are you Scandinavian? I’m guessing w/these names & spellings that you might be… Americans (I can’t speak for anywhere else) might have trouble w/pronunciation of some of the names, like [name_f]Maja[/name_f]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you pronounce it “Mah-zhah,” “My-uh,” “[name_f]May[/name_f]-ah,” or a different way? Is the “th” in [name_f]Nathalie[/name_f] pronounced as “t” or “th” as in “thin”?

Of your names, my favorites are [name_f]Maren[/name_f] (although I like the [name_f]Marin[/name_f] spelling better), [name_f]Klara[/name_f], [name_f]Maja[/name_f] (if it’s [name_f]May[/name_f]-ah), & [name_f]Katharina[/name_f]. I’d use [name_f]Katharina[/name_f] as the mn w/all of them:

[name_f]Maren[/name_f] [name_f]Katharina[/name_f]
[name_f]Klara[/name_f] [name_f]Katharina[/name_f]
[name_f]Maja[/name_f] [name_f]Katharina[/name_f]

Good luck!

I am part Scandinavian! The “th” in [name_f]Nathalie[/name_f] is pronounced with only the “t” sound! I pronounce [name_f]Maja[/name_f] like my-uh! It flows better with out last name!
I’m glad that a couple of you like the “k” version of [name_f]Clara[/name_f]! I know many people feel like it looks made up but the “k” version is used a lot in many countries!

Thanks for all of your feedback this far!

[name_f]Nathalie[/name_f] [name_f]Asta[/name_f] - I’m trying to like [name_f]Nathalie[/name_f] more, but I always fall back to [name_f]Natalie[/name_f]. [name_f]Asta[/name_f] is a little too out there for me personally
[name_f]Maren[/name_f] [name_f]Sabine[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Maren[/name_f] a lot and [name_f]Sabine[/name_f] is nice with it
[name_f]Klara[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] - a little too dusty for me
[name_f]Eline[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f] - similar sounds clash
[name_f]Maja[/name_f] [name_f]Katharina[/name_f] -prefer [name_f]Maya[/name_f] spelling, but this is a nice name

[name_f]Maren[/name_f] [name_f]Sabine[/name_f] is my favorite, followed by [name_f]Maja[/name_f] [name_f]Katharina[/name_f].
