Feedback On My Current List

So my husband and I have decided to try for our first baby. We’ve kept a list of names that we have edited over the last couple of years and though we realise that we will probably keep editing up until we have our baby…we’d love some feedback. I’m in Australia so names that might be super popular in other parts of the world aren’t as popular here so that isn’t a factor in our choices. Also some of the names I think would be better suited as MN but I’ve included them. If you have any similar sounding names or names with a similar feeling to them then we would love suggestions! Our surname is de Boer which is pronounced DUH BOAR (it’s dutch).

Girls:
[name]Aria[/name]
[name]Fable[/name]
[name]Sophia[/name]
[name]Norah[/name]
[name]Lyra[/name]
[name]Elaina[/name]
[name]Raine[/name]
[name]Noelle[/name]

Boys:
[name]Noah[/name]
Dashell
[name]Mason[/name]
[name]Reid[/name]
[name]Cohen[/name]
[name]Cole[/name]
*The middle name will be [name]Lucas[/name] for family reasons

[name]Elaina[/name] de Boer is pretty and sounds like a movie star name. I would avoid names with an “or/ar” sound with your surname ([name]Aria[/name], [name]Norah[/name]). Your boys names seem kind of short. [name]NOah[/name] de BOer is not ideal. [name]Dashiell[/name] is the longest and would sound - well, dashing - with your surname but it’s not good with [name]Lucas[/name]. [name]Mason[/name] [name]Lucas[/name] de Boer would probably be the best option for flow. [name]Reid[/name] [name]Lucas[/name] would be ok too. Please read up on some blogs regarding [name]Cohen[/name]. It’s a sacred name to people of the Jewish faith so it can be offensive.

[name]Aria[/name] is nice and sounds lovely with your surname. I think it’s rising in popularity rather rapidly though, especially if you combine it with the other spelling [name]Arya[/name].

[name]Fable[/name] kinda appeals to me in a guilty pleasure sense but I don’t really care for it as a first name on an actual child. It would be a really interesting middle name, though.

[name]Sophia[/name] is so popular these days it’s become quite boring to me.

[name]Norah[/name] is lovely, but I hate the ‘h’ on the end. [name]Just[/name] [name]Nora[/name] would be great.

[name]Lyra[/name] is gorgeous. [name]Love[/name] it.

[name]Elaina[/name] feels a bit trendy to me. I prefer the more classic [name]Elaine[/name].

[name]Raine[/name] is tacky. [name]Just[/name] say no.

[name]Noelle[/name] is charming and lovely. I like it best as a middle name, though.

Combo ideas: [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Fable[/name], [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Noelle[/name], [name]Aria[/name] [name]Noelle[/name], [name]Nora[/name] [name]Sophia[/name]

[name]Noah[/name] is nice, but yawn. You can do better!

Dashell isn’t it supposed to be spelled [name]Dashiell[/name]? Either way I’m not a fan. It feels too self-consciously hipster for my tastes and the nickname [name]Dash[/name], while cute, feels perpetually juvenile and unsuited to a grown man.

[name]Mason[/name] is okay. [name]Don[/name]'t love it, don’t hate it.

[name]Reid[/name] is quite nice, actually, but I think I prefer a longer name with the surname.

[name]Cohen[/name] is so surnamey, it just doesn’t appeal at all.

[name]Cole[/name] doesn’t sound right with the surname.

Girls:
[name]Aria[/name]… I’ve always liked this name. It’s very light and breezey, makes me think of music.
[name]Fable[/name]… I wouldn’t use this for an actual person given the meaning
[name]Sophia[/name]… I like this name even though where I live its over used, it has a lovely meaning.
[name]Norah[/name]… I like this one too.
[name]Lyra[/name]… [name]One[/name] of my favorites.
[name]Elaina[/name]… Nice name
[name]Raine[/name]… Might be a bit too hippy.
[name]Noelle[/name]… Makes for a good middle name,

Boys:
[name]Noah[/name]… classic name
Dashell… I personally think [particularly with the spelling here] that it sounds too femininate.
[name]Mason[/name]… Not bad, but it’s not a name I’d use. It just makes me think of brick masons.
[name]Reid[/name]… I like this name.
[name]Cohen[/name]… I highly recommend you do NOT use it. It’s giving your kid a religious title, like naming them Pope or [name]Messiah[/name].
[name]Cole[/name]… I like it.

[name]Aria[/name]… Like, a little trendy sounding.
[name]Fable[/name]… Nice.
[name]Sophia[/name]… Never really liked this name
[name]Norah[/name]… Quite like this one
[name]Lyra[/name]… [name]Don[/name]'t like this one.
[name]Elaina[/name]… Really like this one, very classy.
[name]Raine[/name]… Sounds like her sister would be named [name]Petal[/name].
[name]Noele[/name]… A little dated

[name]Noah[/name]… OK
Dashell… [name]Don[/name]'t like this one
[name]Mason[/name]… Ok
[name]Reid[/name]… Pretty good
[name]Cohen[/name]… I love this one, though the religious implications can be a bit problematic depending on where you are. Similar suggestion: [name]Cullen[/name]
[name]Cole[/name]… Not a huge fan… I like [name]Colter[/name] though

I love [name]Aria[/name], [name]Lyra[/name] & [name]Noelle[/name]/[name]Noella[/name].
I think [name]Fable[/name] would make an interesting middle name.
I also like [name]Noah[/name] & [name]Reid[/name]. [name]Noah[/name] [name]Lucas[/name] sounds so cute!

[name]Aria[/name]- Pretty, but I’m starting to see this EVERYWHERE.
[name]Sophia[/name] - [name]WAY[/name] too common
[name]Norah[/name]- [name]Lovely[/name]. I think I prefer [name]Nora[/name] spelled this way though.
[name]Lyra[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name].
[name]Elaina[/name]-Meh.
[name]Raine[/name]- I don’t like the spelling. [name]Rain[/name] is fine.
[name]Noelle[/name]- Very pretty.

[name]Noah[/name]- Nice, but really popular.
Dashell- I believe it is [name]Dashiell[/name].
[name]Mason[/name]- Too popular
[name]Reid[/name]- Meh
[name]Cohen[/name]- Could be seen as offensive
[name]Cole[/name]- Nice.
