I especially love [name_f]Antonia[/name_f] [name_f]Ines[/name_f] and [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Angeline[/name_f]. [name_f]Antonia[/name_f] is such a strong and versatile name! I like the Latin flair that several of these have going on.

[name_f]Carla[/name_f] is not my cup of tea since it seems a bit dated. I like it more with [name_f]Ines[/name_f] beside it, though.

@catherine89 - Thank you! My husband is from Mexico, my family has [name_m]German[/name_m], English, and Scottish roots. We are both bilingual English/Spanish so we are looking for names that combine our ancestry and cultures. Some of these are family names.

I like [name_f]Caridad[/name_f] a lot as a name but honestly [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is way too common. Something like [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Caridad[/name_f] would be better in my opinion.

Very beautiful list! I love [name_f]Antonia[/name_f] Inés. [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is a bit common for my taste but if you love it I think you should stick with it— [name_f]Caridad[/name_f] is beautiful.

Thanks! [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is a family name. I have the same reservations about using it; it’s so often heard these days.

[name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] is glorious! I also really like [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Angeline[/name_f]

Thank you everyone for the feedback.

I only recently added [name_f]Antonia[/name_f] to my list and I really love it. I’m thinking about the nickname [name_f]Nia[/name_f], or maybe [name_f]Ani[/name_f].

[name_f]Edith[/name_f] is currently our top choice, [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] is actually a variation of my husbands name so that works nicely. This would not be pronounced like the state name, but rather with the Spanish pronunciation as Car-o-LEEN-a.

[name_f]Antonia[/name_f] Inés is my favorite from the list. [name_f]Edith[/name_f] sounds pretty dated to me, sorry.

[name_f]Antonia[/name_f] [name_f]Ines[/name_f] is beautiful! I do also like [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Angeline[/name_f], but there’s something so strong and striking about [name_f]Antonia[/name_f] [name_f]Ines[/name_f]!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

Here are my rankings & thoughts on this list:

  1. [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Angeline[/name_f]-I love [name_f]Greta[/name_f]. It’s so soft & kind, yet seems like someone to be taken seriously at the same time. And my favorite part about [name_f]Greta[/name_f] is the nn [name_f]Gerty[/name_f]. [name_f]Angeline[/name_f] is not my personal style, but [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Angeline[/name_f] has a really nice flow.

  2. [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Carolina[/name_f]-[name_f]Edith[/name_f] is just charming. It’s old fashioned, yet simple & ready for a comeback. It’s girly w/out being fussy. [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] has a nice flow. I personally would prefer [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f].

  3. [name_f]Antonia[/name_f] [name_f]Ines[/name_f]-I like [name_f]Antonia[/name_f]. It’s ultra feminine yet not in a frilly way but in a romantic way. [name_f]Antonia[/name_f] [name_f]Ines[/name_f] is good. I think that [name_f]Antonia[/name_f] [name_f]Caridad[/name_f] would flow well too.

  4. [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Caridad[/name_f]-[name_f]Emma[/name_f] is a nice name. Unfortunately too many people think so, & it’s been done to death. It’s kind of lost its sparkle.

5.[name_f]Carla[/name_f] Inés-I’m not a huge fan of [name_f]Carla[/name_f], but I kind of like how it’d be unexpected to hear on a kid these days. [name_f]Carla[/name_f] [name_f]Ines[/name_f] is lovely.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

[name_f]Antonia[/name_f], [name_f]Edith[/name_f] and [name_f]Greta[/name_f] are gorgeous! I like [name_f]Emma[/name_f], but it is much too popular. [name_f]Greta[/name_f] may be too (political?) of a choice right now. So [name_f]Edith[/name_f] and [name_f]Antonia[/name_f] have my vote!

I have to admit my ignorance… Why is [name_f]Greta[/name_f] political?

Emma Caridad & Greta Angeline got my votes – both are lovely. If Emma ultimately is too common for you, I think Greta Caridad would be very nice.

@littlelune810: I’m assuming @vera.valentina was referring to Greta Thunberg (young Swedish environmental activist recently in the public eye for her speech at the UN Climate Action Summit last year) in regard to being “too political right now”… I don’t think this is an issue at all myself, but I’m assuming this was what was meant by such a comment.

Thanks for the clarification. I didn’t even think about the climate activist when adding this name to my list. I actually was thinking about [name_f]Greta[/name_f] Gerwig. Anyway, the association with [name_f]Greta[/name_f] Thunberg does not bother me at all- a strong female namesake? I’m here for it.
