Feedback on my list?

I’d love some feedback on my current name list. Babies are still a good two to three years away, but I like to plan ahead

I seem to have a thing for long girls names, as I had to work hard to find middle names with fewer than three syllables (I kept [name]Melisande[/name] in there anyway because I love it so much). It also doesn’t help that we have a three syllable last name. Maybe adding in a one syllable name as a second middle with break things up? Finally, you’ll see so many ‘C’ names in there as I am trying to honor my mother, [name]Cathy[/name], who died when I was a teenager.

[name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Delphine[/name] - I go back and forth on [name]Cordelia[/name]. I like the history and it makes me think of a studious yet spunky little girl. However, I don’t like any of the nn’s and I realize that, with four syllables, it will be shortened.

[name]Cecily[/name] [name]Ondine[/name] - Is [name]Cecily[/name] prissy? [name]Do[/name] you think she’ll get called Cess or [name]Cece[/name]? I like the full name, but am not a fan of either of those nn’s.

[name]Eulalie[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] - I found out that one of my DH’s great-grandmothers’ middle names was [name]Eulalia[/name] and have kind of been obsessed with the name ever since. This feels much heavier than the other names on my list though

[name]Coralie[/name] [name]Tamsin[/name] - I like [name]Coralie[/name], but feel as though it doesn’t have enough history and substance. Am I wrong?

[name]Catharina[/name] [name]Melisande[/name] - I’m spelling [name]Catharina[/name] this way as a nod to my Dutch heritage. I pronounce it as cat-a-REEN-a, but think it’s also pretty as cath-ree-na. I like that it’s the closest to my mother’s name, but will she get lost in a sea of [name]Cat[/name]'s, [name]Kate[/name]'s, and [name]Catherine[/name]'s? I don’t think I’m brave enough to use [name]Melisande[/name] as a fn.

[name]Aurelie[/name] [name]Claire[/name] - Is [name]Aurelie[/name] acceptable in the US at all? I don’t think I would use [name]Aurelia[/name] - it’s beautiful, but not for me

[name]Cosima[/name] [name]Delphine[/name] - [name]Cosima[/name] is new to my list. As with [name]Cecily[/name], I worry that it might be a bit stuffy. Also, is it too close to my name ([name]Simone[/name])?

[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Celeste[/name] - I know my DH doesn’t like [name]Imogen[/name], but maybe he’ll come around?

I’ve finally given up my old favorite, [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Isolde[/name] (nn: [name]Lottie[/name]), as I hear [name]Charlotte[/name] everywhere and it has lost its appeal. I do morn it greatly though.

As a reference, my boys list includes [name]Ivo[/name] [name]Murray[/name] (family names), [name]Crispin[/name]/[name]Corin[/name]/[name]Callum[/name], Owen and Nathaniel.

Any suggestions? critiques? Thanks!

[name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Delphine[/name] - I like both separately but the del sound in both of them throws me off.

[name]Cecily[/name] [name]Ondine[/name] - love [name]Cecily[/name] and I don’t think it needs a NN but [name]Ondine[/name] is not my favorite…

[name]Coralie[/name] [name]Tamsin[/name] - very cute and sweet!

[name]Catharina[/name] [name]Melisande[/name] - pretty but very long I would break these up and pair each with a shorter name. [name]Catharina[/name] [name]Tamsin[/name]? [name]Claire[/name] [name]Melisande[/name]?

[name]Aurelie[/name] [name]Claire[/name] -STUNNING! And definitely usable in the US

[name]Cosima[/name] [name]Delphine[/name] - I think [name]Delphine[/name] fits much better here!

[name]Imogene[/name] [name]Celeste[/name] - I am not a big fan of either name but I really like them together here

Thanks for your response!

I did think about the repetition of the ‘del’ sound in [name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Delphine[/name], but I pronounce them differently so I think I forgot about it a bit. You are right though - I think I’ll have to rework that combination. [name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Lucine[/name] maybe? I like the idea of [name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Luna[/name], but I don’t think it flows very well, as the stress is on the first syllable.

I don’t think I could do [name]Claire[/name] as a fn, as it is a bit common. I actually love [name]Clara[/name] though and wish it weren’t so popular!

[name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Delphine[/name] - I quite like the alliterative sound of this combo, and both names are gorgeous!

[name]Cecily[/name] [name]Ondine[/name] - I don’t think [name]Cecily[/name] is prissy, but I do slightly prefer [name]Cecilia[/name] or [name]Celia[/name]. [name]Love[/name] [name]Ondine[/name]!

[name]Eulalie[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] - I think this is my favorite on your list because both names honor family, and [name]Eulalie[/name] is so gorgeous and unique. Doesn’t sound heavy to me at all.

[name]Coralie[/name] [name]Tamsin[/name] - I do like [name]Coralie[/name], but I like [name]Eulalie[/name] better, and I’m not a fan of [name]Tamsin[/name].

[name]Catharina[/name] [name]Melisande[/name] - This is quite a long name, but I think [name]Catharina[/name] and [name]Melisande[/name] are well matched, both very romantic, feminine names to me. I like this one, especially since it honors your mother.

[name]Aurelie[/name] [name]Claire[/name] - I want to like this name, but I just hear ‘orally’

[name]Cosima[/name] [name]Delphine[/name] - [name]Cosima[/name] is a stunning name, but I just wonder how it would wear in real life, might be a little hard for to pull off…

[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Celeste[/name] - Very pretty combo.

What a great list! [name]Ivo[/name] [name]Murray[/name] is amazing as well

[name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Delphine[/name] - I like it but ive never been a fan of the [name]CORD[/name] part of cordelia

[name]Cecily[/name] [name]Ondine[/name] - Odine is neat… ive never heard it before… I prefer [name]Cecilia[/name] to [name]Cicily[/name]

[name]Eulalie[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] Not a fan of [name]Eulalie[/name] or [name]Eulalia[/name]… [name]Catherine[/name] is a nice classic thouh

[name]Coralie[/name] [name]Tamsin[/name] - [name]LOve[/name] [name]Coralie[/name]! nn [name]Cora[/name] is adorable! [name]Tasmin[/name] is ok

[name]Catharina[/name] [name]Melisande[/name] - not my style… sorrye

[name]Aurelie[/name] [name]Claire[/name] - Cute

[name]Cosima[/name] [name]Delphine[/name] - LOVEEEEEEEEEEE!!

[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Celeste[/name] - LOVEEEEE

suggestions…[name]Etta[/name], [name]Catriona[/name] (kah-tri-nah), [name]Alma[/name], [name]Florence[/name]

*[name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Delphine[/name] - Sounds pretty. I’ve never been a fan of [name]Cordelia[/name] but with [name]Delphine[/name] it sounds quite nice. I like the nn [name]Delia[/name] or [name]Della[/name].

*[name]Cecily[/name] [name]Ondine[/name] - I like it!

*[name]Eulalie[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] - I prefer [name]Eulalia[/name] but this it nice too!

[name]Coralie[/name] [name]Tamsin[/name] - I prefer [name]Coraline[/name]. Like the nn [name]Cora[/name]! Not a fan of [name]Tamsin[/name].

[name]Catharina[/name] [name]Melisande[/name] - Sounds lovely even though I not a huge fan of [name]Catharina[/name].

[name]Aurelie[/name] [name]Claire[/name] - I love [name]Aurelia[/name], if this read *[name]Aurelia[/name] [name]Claire[/name] it would be my favorite. With [name]Aurelie[/name] all I hear is “Oh Really?”.

[name]Cosima[/name] [name]Delphine[/name] - Not a fan of [name]Cosima[/name]

[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Celeste[/name] - Not a huge fan of [name]Imogen[/name].

*My favorites

I just saw these new comments and wanted to say thanks! I think I may go back to the drawing board in terms of combinations, as some of these aren’t feeling just quite right. Again, thanks!

Any more suggestions?

You can’t beat [name]Cosima[/name]. So rare (10 in 2010/6 in 2011), upper-class namesakes, and a beautiful meaning. Also, I think [name]Simone[/name] and [name]Cosima[/name] play off each other quite beautifully. They really compliment each other. I didn’t want to look at your other options once I saw it, but, they are all very pretty. [name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Delphine[/name] would be my second fav.

I am in love with [name]Aurelie[/name] [name]Claire[/name], it seems so classy and elegant! I also like [name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Delphine[/name] because it seems so powerful. I’m sure you’ve heard these nn’s but there’s [name]Cordy[/name] and [name]Delia[/name].

[name]Catharina[/name] [name]Melisande[/name] is the only one that stands out for me. [name]Love[/name] it! It is strong and beautiful. I don’t think the others compare that much, though [name]Aurelie[/name] [name]Claire[/name] is also nice.

[name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Delphine[/name] - I like [name]Cordelia[/name]. It reminds me of [name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables

[name]Cecily[/name] [name]Ondine[/name] - I’m not fond of [name]Cecily[/name], but I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Ondine[/name].

[name]Eulalie[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]- I love [name]Eulalie[/name], but I’m not sure it’s wearable.

[name]Coralie[/name] [name]Tamsin[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it! Well, [name]Tamsin[/name] not so much, but [name]Coralie[/name] is on my list. I think it’s substantive, but I don’t know about it’s history.

[name]Catharina[/name] [name]Melisande[/name] - I really dislike [name]Catharina[/name], but I like melisande.

[name]Aurelie[/name] [name]Claire[/name] - If you pronounce it oh-[name]RAY[/name]-lee, it’s not a problem in the US, I think. I think it’s beautiful.

[name]Cosima[/name] [name]Delphine[/name] - [name]Cosima[/name] is absolutely gorgeous, but the double “sim” with [name]Simone[/name] might be a bit much.

[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Celeste[/name] - I adore [name]Imogen[/name]. But, again maybe not so much with [name]Simone[/name].

My favorite combo would be [name]Coralie[/name] [name]Ondine[/name].
