[name]Hi[/name] Nelaine, welcome to Nameberry! My three faves with your -Mc surname are:
1 [name]Callum[/name] [name]Jude[/name] - Scottish [name]Callum[/name] is just meant for a Mc surname! [name]Love[/name] it!
2 [name]Asher[/name] [name]Dean[/name] - I like this Biblical surname and the combo sounds pretty cool!
3 [name]Bennet[/name] [name]Crew[/name] - I chose this name for my third choice even though I’m not sure about the “net” ending with the “Mc” beginning of your surname. Does it sound ok to you when you say it?
The four names below seem kind of trendy to me (eg. on, am, an ending names).
[name]Trenton[/name] [name]Brooks[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t like [name]Trenton[/name]
[name]Kohlman[/name] [name]Fisher[/name] - Is there a department store called [name]Kohlman[/name]?
[name]Denham[/name] [name]Reed[/name] - OK. This would be my fourth choice
[name]Harmon[/name] [name]Rhodes[/name] - Sorry but this name reminds me of [name]Armin[/name] Hammer baking soda
I agree with the endings of some of the names being quite trendy. I try to steer away from these type names but I always seem to come back to them. Also my hubby-to-be only agrees on [name]Trenton[/name] and [name]Kohlman[/name]. We aren’t expecting yet though, so we have time to find more names.
[name]Kohlman[/name]- There is a dept. store named Kohls.
[name]Harmon[/name]- I hadn’t thought of the Arm and Hammer connection. I used to watch the show JAG and the main character had the name [name]Harmon[/name], it always had a strong and masculine appeal to me.
[name]Bennet[/name] [name]Crew[/name] sounds fine with the last name.
These names are really dated. There are other place names besides a city in New [name]Jersey[/name]. The “creative” spelling of Kolhman doesn’t help. [name]Denham[/name] sounds like a soapy son name. Why the one “t” in [name]Bennet[/name]? [name]Asher[/name] and [name]Callum[/name] scream born in 2009 and probably until 2014. Despite the last name [name]Harmon[/name] it seems like a masculine version of [name]Harmony[/name].
Go with [name]Grey[/name]. It’s unique and stylish with a real history (unlike Hawke). [name]Gabe[/name]'s too common. [name]Raleigh[/name]'s another unbecoming place name. There are other last names as first names better than [name]Easton[/name] and [name]Cullen[/name].
[name]Bennet[/name] [name]Crew[/name] (though it might often be misspelled as [name]Bennett[/name])
[name]Asher[/name] [name]Dean[/name]
[name]Callum[/name] [name]Jude[/name]
That said, I’m a huge fan of both [name]Gabriel[/name] (nn [name]Gabe[/name]) and [name]Grey[/name], and I like both of these names more than [name]Bennet[/name], [name]Asher[/name], or [name]Callum[/name].
I like [name]Bennet[/name] [name]Crew[/name] a lot, but I would add a “t” to [name]Bennet[/name] ("[name]Bennett[/name]"). [name]Kohlman[/name] is strange to me and reminds me of the [name]Coleman[/name] brand of outdoor coolers, etc. [name]Trenton[/name] reminds me of NJ and not in a good way. My son’s name is [name]Brooks[/name] so I have no complaints with that name! : ) I like [name]Grey[/name], [name]Easton[/name] and [name]Gabe[/name] – I am strongly considering [name]Gabriel[/name]/[name]Gabe[/name] for our next child if it’s a boy.
