Feedback on trendiness IRL

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Berries.
I was thinking we were pretty much set on [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] for a boy. I know it gets talk about quite a bit on here, but I’m looking for feedback on this name “in real life”. I feel like I’ve been seeing it on baby announcements everywhere… But it could just be because it’s on my radar. I don’t need the only [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], obviously. But I don’t want an overly trendy name that could end up feeling dated. If that makes any sense!

Personally, I only know 1 little [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]. A little boy, age 5. It does feel trendy at the moment, but it can easily become a classic.

I don’t know anyone named [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]. Never met one. I think it’s a great name.

I love the name [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]. so handsome.
Personally ive never meet a [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], its not trendy at all where i live.

[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] is a lovely name but I’ve seen it come up quite a lot with this website lately and on vloggers kids (cubhouse vlogs etc.) so be aware it may be quite popular by the time your kid is 5 or 10.

It is pretty popular among people I know. I absolutely love the name but it has become relatively trendy and I think it will continue to become more so. My sister’s son is [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] and when he was born (8 years ago) it was not common and also almost exclusively used for boys. [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] is becoming more popular for girls as well in the last 1-2 years it seems. I think that trend could continue too given the unisex trend & boy names for girls among celebrities & others. But it is still a great boy name if you don’t mind it becoming more popular!!

I’ve only ever known one [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], a girl who would be in her late teens or early 20s by now; that being said, I don’t know many young children or spend time around them much, so this may not be all that helpful. The name has definitely been around for awhile though- actor [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] Atkinson and former Archbishop of Canterbury [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_m]Williams[/name_m] are both in their 60s, to give a couple examples. [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] is a lovely name

I like the name [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], but I’ve never met any of them. I have, however, met 2 [name_u]Rohan[/name_u]'s.

Thank you! I think it’s a lovely name too. But I just worried it was going to seem too trendy. Trendy didn’t seem to appeal to me, like having a [name_u]Brayden[/name_u], [name_u]Jayden[/name_u], [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] or [name_m]Kaiden[/name_m] of a few years ago. So of course I’m second guessing and wondering if we should start all over and reconsider more classic yet unused names. Typical, hormonal and overthinking most likely. Thank you again for honest feedback!!

I’ve only ever known one [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]; I think she’d be about twenty now (and I do see it more frequently online when it’s used for girls, but I don’t think that’s an issue unless it bothers you). It’s a great name, I’d say it only seems “trendy” at the moment because most people are just discovering it; it isn’t an issue like the one with the ai/ydens where a sound caught on and everyone ran with it.

I think [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] may well become trendy in the sense of increasing popularity over the next few years, but I think it has enough history, and most likely enough staying power to avoid being trendy in the sense of becoming really dated, or just a brief fad.

I’ve never known a [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], though I do know two people with the similar name [name_m]Ronan[/name_m]–one in his mid-30s and one a newborn baby.

I think [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] is a really nice name, it fits well at any age.

I’ve met a few. I wouldn’t consider it trendy

I don’t know any Rowans. I think it’s trendy only in the sense that its STYLE and construction is trendy now- a two-syllable boy’s name ending in -an. So I think it SOUNDS trendy but the name [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] alone isn’t actually that overused or tiring. It is so much more unique compared to other -an boy’s names, so I think you should go for it! It could very well become a classic or remain a rare favorite. Both alternatives are great!
