Ohhh, such a hard choice! They’re two of my absolute favourites. But I went with [name]Cordelia[/name] because I love “a” endings and it sounds more feminine.
I like [name]Felicity[/name] better.
I usually prefer [name]Felicity[/name], but something about [name]Agnes[/name] and [name]Cordelia[/name] is irresistible.
Totally agree with this! [name]Both[/name] are beautiful choices though, good luck
Another vote for [name]Agnes[/name] and [name]Cordelia[/name]. [name]Agnes[/name] and [name]Felicity[/name] share a common sound so I find [name]Cordelia[/name] a more pleasing option.
I voted [name]Felicity[/name] because I feel like it’s less serious than [name]Cordelia[/name] next to [name]Agnes[/name] - I feel like it gives [name]Agnes[/name] a more whimsical feel than a rigid classic one. I adore [name]Cordelia[/name], it’s on the top of my own list, but [name]Agnes[/name] and [name]Felicity[/name] sound more whimsical and light than [name]Agnes[/name] and [name]Cordelia[/name]. That’s just my impression, though - [name]Felicity[/name] is a top name for me as well for a very, very long time. Great taste!
I adore [name]Felicity[/name]. It’s in my top 20! (I know that sounds huge, but I love too many girl names…can’t narrow it down). I love the meaning, and I think it really does have a very joyful feel to it. So pretty. Actually [name]Agnes[/name] is one of my favorites too - one of the few “classics” that I adore. I think [name]Agnes[/name] & [name]Felicity[/name] would be amazing.
I do like [name]Cordelia[/name] too. I just don’t love it. But I still think it’s very pretty. Vintage charm but with a modern feel too.
I vote [name]Felicity[/name]!
I like both [name]Cordelia[/name] and [name]Felicity[/name], but like [name]Cordelia[/name] slightly more, especially with [name]Agnes[/name]. [name]Felicity[/name] also reminds me of the old show. It’s not bad, but it’s something to think about. [name]Cordelia[/name] lends itself to nn’s more than [name]Felicity[/name] does, too. I really like [name]Delia[/name] and [name]Cordie[/name] for nn’s [name]Cordelia[/name].
[name]Both[/name] are lovely names, and it would have been very, very difficult to chose just one…but I chose [name]Cordelia[/name] because it sounds nicer with [name]Agnes[/name]. [name]Felicity[/name] seems quirky and youthful and modern, but [name]Cordelia[/name] has the same air of old fashioned graces as [name]Agnes[/name].
Interesting as I never saw the TV show but my American husband mentioned it as a factor against using [name]Felicity[/name]. For nicknames we call [name]Agnes[/name] ‘Lamb’ and I can see [name]Felicity[/name] becoming ‘[name]Lucky[/name]’. I really like [name]Delia[/name] for [name]Cordelia[/name]. Thanks for the feedback.
Thank you! Norbury is my father’s middle name and was very nearly mine (a close escape I think)
I like both [name]Cora[/name] and [name]Cornelia[/name] but thought we could use [name]Cora[/name] as a nn for [name]Cordelia[/name] so she has more choices and worried [name]Cornelia[/name] would get called ‘corny’.
Thank you for all the votes and feedback - I’m still wavering but think [name]Felicity[/name] may win the day, I’ll keep you posted.
[name]Felicity[/name] is so beautiful, and a really happy, jolly sounding name. [name]Cordelia[/name] sounds too strong and harsh, I much prefer just [name]Cora[/name].
[name]Cordelia[/name] for the win!
I really love both but voted for [name]Cordelia[/name]. Mostly because of the nn options. I love the nn [name]Cora[/name], plus there are a few other options in there. [name]Felicity[/name] doesn’t have many options for nns - maybe Liss? Cici? Those aren’t really that “obvious” though.
While I love both, I voted for [name]Cordelia[/name].
[name]Agnes[/name] and [name]Cordelia[/name] is a beautiful sibset.
I prefer [name]Felicity[/name] as it has a lovely, positive meaning whereas [name]Cordelia[/name] is a great but extremely tragic character in [name]King[/name] Lear. I also agree that [name]Felicity[/name] sounds light and pretty whilst [name]Cordelia[/name] is elegant but slightly harsher.
Nns for [name]Felicity[/name] that I’ve heard used are Fliss, Flic/[name]Flick[/name], [name]Floss[/name], [name]Flossie[/name] or [name]Lici[/name], I like [name]Lici[/name] best but the first two are more common.
I adore both names, but I find [name]Felicity[/name] a little flighty next to [name]Agnes[/name]. I think a [name]Cordelia[/name] could hold her own. I like that both names have strong consonant sounds, while [name]Agnes[/name] and [name]Felicity[/name] are a bit more tongue-tripping with the rhyming s-syllable.
