[name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] all the way. It sounds like you like it more, so don’t let your older kids scare you away. [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] is more lively and has a more interesting history. It has worked really well on the two [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f]'s I have known. [name_f]Roxie[/name_f] [name_u]Vega[/name_u] seems really cool, maybe like a stage name when said together, but more like a roller derby girl or a rock star than a stripper.
I used to like [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] more before I saw someone mention it’s pronounced almost the same as facility. That really killed [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] for me.
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] is perfect! I like [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] but in this case I think [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] works the best.
Well, you know I love [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] the most I think it’s bold, sassy and sophisticated, while [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] is definitely sophisticated but much more delicate and girly.
However, I’d say that [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] is more likely to be a “crowd-pleaser”, while with [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f]/[name_f]Roxie[/name_f] you’ll likely find that people either love it or hate it. Nothing wrong with that if you truly love the name and won’t be put off by anything that is said about it - my daughter’s name definitely falls into that category too, and we still love it no matter how many times the pregnant teenager is brought up (not why we picked it, btw…)
If you think you will be bothered by the occasional negative reaction (your elder children’s being a case in point), I think it makes more sense to choose [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]. It’s pretty, meaningful and feels like the safer" option, without being super common.
All that to say “Your call”, basically - sorry. You have to decide how much other people’s opinions would get to you.
Good luck!
I prefer [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] because I think it goes better with your last name
I adore [name_f]Roxana[/name_f] (nn.[name_f]Roxie[/name_f]) so my vote goes to [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f], it’s bold and spunky and adorable. I find [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] too fussy.
Ooh, I love [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f]. She doesn’t have to go by [name_f]Roxy[/name_f]—she can easily be [name_f]Annie[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f], or the full [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f]. It also flows much better with [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] than [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] does, [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
What about [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f]?
That was a tough one! I chose [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f], though, because I like the nicknames [name_f]Roxy[/name_f] and [name_f]Annie[/name_f].
I second this. [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] is adorable!
[name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] gets my vote. That could be because I’m bored with [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]. [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] seems to be a nameberry favorite, and it seems berries are on point with the rest of the world, or a bit ahead. So that being considered, I think [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] would have more people gush over it.
I agree with your kids, [name_f]Roxie[/name_f]/[name_f]Roxy[/name_f] does sound a bit stripperish. That being said, [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] is gorgeous and she doesn’t have to be a [name_f]Roxy[/name_f]…there are plenty of other nicknames that could be used, Rox, [name_f]Anne[/name_f], [name_f]Annie[/name_f] (roxy feels dated to me anyways, i would prefer annie or anne anyways)…And being frank, it’s hard to stereotype stripper names as they are all over. If you really love [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f], I wouldn’t rule it out because a potential nickname has the potential of a stripper sounding name. [name_m]Long[/name_m] winded way of saying “just avoid that nickname”
Oh I adore [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f]. It’s so spunky and full of life. Sure I understand the stripper connection because of the Police song but I’m sure after a little while they won’t associate her name with that, they’ll be associating with their sweet little sister. It seems like you prefer [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] and that’s all that really matters.
I’m a [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] fan! As pp’s said, if YOU prefer [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f], go with [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f]. [name_f]Roxie[/name_f] [name_u]Vega[/name_u] sounds really cute and spunky, and it’s hard to find a name these days that doesn’t have a ‘stripper’ sound to it (I have two friends who work in a topless bar who go by [name_f]Alyssa[/name_f] and [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]).
[name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] is cool but I have to agree with your other children that [name_f]Roxie[/name_f] [name_u]Vega[/name_u] sounds the way they say it sounds.
I’d 100% go with [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] in your case.
I want to thank you for officially naming our daughter she is [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] [name_u]Vega[/name_u] and we love the name so much and we think it’s so fitting.
I love your daughters name btw!
I adore the name [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], but sounds like you like [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] best. If so, definitely go for that name. I don’t think she’ll get made fun of!
Aww, congratulations! You made a truly gorgeous choice (YOU definitely named her by the way - both names were from YOUR list!)
Wishing you both a super speedy recovery! x
