So we recently found out we are having a little girl and have been going through so many name ideas. We both love whimsical and fantasy sounding names. I had suggested [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] or [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] but both felt too popular. [name_f]My[/name_f] SO suggested Aurannea, at first I wasnt sure but it has really grown on me however it literally cannot be found anywhere. It also uses a combination of both our names. To me it feels similar to [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] or [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] but a bit more unique. So as of right now we are thinking of naming her Aurannea [name_f]Faye[/name_f] (we both love [name_f]Faye[/name_f] because it feels feminine and whimsical to us). Any suggestions on the name or other names we should consider?
I think it’s pretty, but people are going to have a hard time pronouncing and spelling it.
If you like [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] but want something a little rarer, what about [name_f]Oriana[/name_f]? [name_f]Oriana[/name_f] has never been in the top 1000, and it has the same meaning as [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]. [name_f]Oriana[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] is a beautiful name
Something about the letters in Aurannea feels like a lot to me… Perhaps Arannea or Aranea?
I could see myself pronoucing Aurannea / Aranea how you were thinking, or AUR-ra-nee-a. If you’re ok with that pronunciation, I really like Aurania… I don’t know why the E to an I is preferable for me
How about [name_f]Aura[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]? It’s unique (I’ve never met one), and a bit simpler.
Aurannea is pretty but I agree with above posters that pronunciation may be unintuitive. Might I suggest Auraneia and Auraneya ? Same pronunciation but different spelling
Parsing this name was a challenge for me but I can see why you like it. I wanted it to sound like [name_f]Ariana[/name_f]. You could just go straight to [name_f]Aura[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] or even [name_f]Aura[/name_f] [name_f]Fae[/name_f] to preserve the A- and -ea and have an easier name. [name_u]Auri[/name_u] is a cute nickname!
I think it’s lovely, especially with [name_f]Lexani[/name_f] & [name_m]Josiah[/name_m]!
I believe I found the alternative spelling, Aurania. It means [name_f]Energy[/name_f] & Helper. The name [name_f]Aura[/name_f] usually means Soft breeze or wind. Whereas, the name [name_f]Ania[/name_f] means graceful/merciful.
Congratulations! Aurannea [name_f]Faye[/name_f] is very beautiful!
I do agree with others that I would be more inclined to pronounce it as AUR-ah-nay-a if it was written more like Auraneya
I absolutely adore [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], I would even consider it despite it’s popularity.
