I need help deciding on a name for my newest character. It’s between Femi (the original choice) or [name_f]Demi[/name_f].
Character info:
She is a young girl, somewhere between 8 and 12 (i’m still working on the finer details) who’s main personality trait is how fired up she gets. She’s extremely passionate although this usually manifests itself as anger and a willingness to fight anything. However she cares deeply about her friends. Her favourite colour is blue and she is always happiest around water, being a highly proficient swimmer.
Sorry for the long post hope someone can help!!! [name_f]TIA[/name_f] xx
I can buy into Femi if it’s short for something, like [name_f]Eufemia[/name_f] / [name_f]Euphemia[/name_f] or [name_f]Femke[/name_f]. [name_f]Demi[/name_f] sounds more authentic to me, but if I could understand where Femi comes from, I could be swayed.
Femi!! It is a beautiful unknown Circassian name I love, and it can be a nickname for [name_f]Euphemia[/name_f] or [name_f]Femke[/name_f] if you are unsure of the name.
I have a Circassian girl name list you can look if you like Femi!
Femi is actually my cousins name which is why I love it!! His full name is Obafemi which we always shortened althoigh i didnt find out until recently that Femi is mkre traditionally a girls name which is why i was considering it.
I might reconsider completely now, as Femi just feels more like a boys name to me because of the family connection and the hard sound of [name_f]Demi[/name_f] still feels too sharp and violent?
Open to suggestions!
[name_m]Just[/name_m] go with Femi, it is more interesting and attention grabbing for a character name and maybe it can make the name more well known, it isn’t everyday Circassian names are used in stories.
I also like Femi. [name_f]Demi[/name_f] has connotations of demi bra, [name_f]Demi[/name_f] Lovato, and demisexual. There is nothing wrong with any of those things, but it’s hard for me to see [name_f]Demi[/name_f] as a normal name.
Femi is unusual (I’ve never heard it before) and seems to suit your character. In my head I’m pronouncing it “[name_f]FAY[/name_f]-mee”.
