By this I mean I’d like suggestions on feminizations of names that aren’t simply the name +/- a different letter (even though a load of those are lovely!). More like [name_m]Charles[/name_m] → [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], rather than [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] → [name_f]Theodora[/name_f].
This could also include variations of the masculine name + the original feminization, like [name_m]Alexei[/name_m] and [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], or [name_m]Maximus[/name_m] and [name_f]Maxine[/name_f]. I want them to have the same prefix, so it’s inspired by the masculine name, but not incredibly similar.

My gut says a lot of the [name_f]French[/name_f] feminzations are that way if paired with a non-French version of the male name. [name_m]Like[/name_m] [name_m]Michele[/name_m] to [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] is not very different, but [name_m]Michael[/name_m] to [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] is closer to that [name_m]Charles[/name_m] → [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] thing.
[name_f]Tamsin[/name_f], which does come from [name_f]Thomasina[/name_f], is a feminization of [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]. It might be a little too dissimilar compared to what you were looking for, but it was my first thought.

To be fair, I suspect [name_f]Theodosia[/name_f] might originate from Theodosius rather than directly from [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
But they have the same prefix
Ah, admittedly I didn’t read the second half of the post very closely lol. I would probably consider them more different names with similar elements than variations of the same name, but that’s being pedantic and not really in the spirit of the question. It’s a good thing you pointed that out-- it gives me more creative freedom in coming up with responses myself!

Does [name_f]Davina[/name_f] work for [name_m]David[/name_m]? [name_f]Davida[/name_f] is more obviously related to [name_m]David[/name_m], but [name_f]Davina[/name_f] feels so much more its own name?
I also love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] that you mentioned!
A few other ideas (I’ll let you decide if they count!):
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] (Felix)
[name_f]Nechama[/name_f] (the Hebrew feminine form of Nehemiah!)
[name_f]Antonella[/name_f] (Antony)
[name_f]Giuseppina[/name_f] (I guess [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is kinda obvious but [name_f]Giuseppina[/name_f] feels less so?)
I’m really struggling to think of any others though lol. Good luck!
