I love [name]Fern[/name]. looooove [name]Fern[/name]. I wish I could tell you to go for it.
BUT
[name]Fern[/name] Forman is just too much. sadly.
:’(
juliet.a - you said exactly what I feel!
I commented in your other thread, but I’ll comment here too. I definitely think it is bordering on being a little too F/N heavy, but as long as you don’t mind that sort of nursery-rhyme-like flow (can’t think of another way to say it!) to a name I think it’s definitely workable. And honestly, I’m not sure about you, but the amount of times I’ve been called by my full name in my entire life is very few. Before I changed my name I had a similar alliterative problem being “F____ G____-F____” and it wasn’t a huge deal for me.
I agree with [name]Genevie[/name].
I think people might get confused and accidentally say “Forn [name]Ferman[/name]” etc.
Unfortunately it’s too much in my opinion
[name]How[/name] about a name that has [name]Fern[/name] in it?
e.g.
~ [name]Cefernia[/name] (variation of [name]Zephyr[/name] meaning ‘west wind’ - still has the nature theme)
~ [name]Fernanda[/name] (feminine variation of [name]Ferdinand[/name] meaning ‘courage’)
Or a name that has the ‘ern’ sound in it?
e.g.
~ [name]Bernadette[/name] (meaning ‘brave as a bear’ - also has many other pretty variations. The nickname [name]Bernie[/name] is sweet!)
~ [name]Erna[/name] (meaning ‘to know’)
~ [name]Laverna[/name] (meaning ‘springlike’ - again, has the nature theme)
Or a one-syllable nature name?
e.g.
~ [name]Brook[/name]
~ [name]Dove[/name]
~ [name]Sky[/name]
Good luck
What about using [name]Vern[/name]? There was a long post about using this name for a baby girl on Swistle in the past year. Most commenters were enchanted with the idea. (I’m one who voted “too heavy to f-n sounds.”)
It’s ‘F, R, N in that order’ sounds that kills it for me.
[name]Aurelia[/name] is lovely, and pairs well with Forman and big sister [name]Iris[/name] [name]Ophelia[/name]'s name.
[name]Fleur[/name] would work, if it’s of interest: [name]Fleur[/name] [name]Aurelia[/name] Forman sounds beautiful, and again perfectly complements the style of I.O.'s name.
To me it’s actually likable rather than silly. Yes, it is a bit funny and too rollicking, but [name]Fern[/name] Forman is actually pretty fun. Though, I’m rather unsure, it is workable/usable, but still it would burden a child with some teasing, and a few nursery rhyme-ish songs.
It’s too much on a tongue twister for me, sorry
Good God yes…I do not like it at all
My thoughts exactly. Keep [name]Aurelia[/name] though!
I can’t say it!
[name]Fern[/name] is pretty but a bit too much with your last name. I looooove [name]Aurelia[/name] thought. [name]How[/name] about [name]Aurelia[/name] [name]Fern[/name] Forman?
Sorry meant to say though instead of thought!
Oh I should add that my name was Frr__ Fr___, so very similar to the Fern Forman problem, aside from the repeated ‘N’. I actually only just noticed, so I think that should tell you something ![]()
