Fernanda "Fern" vs. Florence "Flora"

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] fellow berries! These are some baby girl names I am pondering at the moment… [name_f]Florence[/name_f] was the name of my great grandmother; [name_f]Fernanda[/name_f] just sounds pretty and sweet and is the name of a dear friend. Also in consideration is [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f], the name of another grandmother. I’m just not sure of a nickname for [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]. What do you think of them? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you strongly prefer one or the other? Opinions welcome!
PS [name_u]Baby[/name_u]'s last name would be “[name_u]Kyle[/name_u].”

I much prefer [name_f]Florence[/name_f]!

I prefer [name_f]Florence[/name_f] by a mile, and they’re incredibly different styles to me. [name_f]Fernanda[/name_f] makes me think of [name_m]Fernando[/name_m] (the [name_m]Abba[/name_m] song, [name_m]Fernando[/name_m] Torres, the cheap holiday destination).

You might also like: [name_f]Raphaela[/name_f], [name_f]Fenella[/name_f], [name_f]Frederica[/name_f]?

[name_f]Florence[/name_f] is my favorite by far!

I’ve always liked [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f], but have never put it on my list for some reason. I think the nickname [name_f]Dottie[/name_f] is really cute.
Nicknames for [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]: [name_f]Dottie[/name_f], [name_f]Dolly[/name_f], [name_f]Dora[/name_f], [name_f]Dorie[/name_f], [name_f]Dorthy[/name_f], [name_f]Dot[/name_f], [name_f]Doris[/name_f]

[name_f]Florence[/name_f] is my preference. Very pretty and a little girly but still has some stateliness to it. [name_f]Fernanda[/name_f] just…I just don’t like the sound of it. Quite a bit.

[name_f]Florence[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Fern[/name_f] but [name_f]Fernanda[/name_f] makes me think of [name_m]Abba[/name_m], really don’t like it.
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] is ok but I still like [name_f]Florence[/name_f] the best.
