few characters for a new novel

I’m currently working on a new novel, and they currently just have “filler” names. I need quite a few names for male and female teenagers, with diifferent styles, none too common. Those aren’t important, but if you could just suggest some nice combos that would be helpful

The main girl’s name is [name]Winter[/name] [name]Brookes[/name], her name is set in stone, as it has a very special meaning to the story, but she goes strictly by [name]Winnie[/name] anyway. I need a pretty middle name to go with the combo, maybe something french as her mother has french orgins

The other main character’s name is [name]Jay[/name], but I need it to be short for something. I know the obvious [name]Jason[/name], but is there anything else you can think of? And maybe suggestions for his middle name

The third main character was going by [name]Ashton[/name], but I’m just not feeling that anymore. He dates [name]Winnie[/name] for half the novel, and they’ve been together for two years. They were best friends since they were little, but no one expected [name]Winnie[/name] (the beautiful and popular girl) to date such an average guy. He is the classic nice guy, kind of keeps to himself, loves to read and has always been awful at sports, despite his fatther pushing him to play. I have no ideas for his name, so I’d love any suggestions.

For [name]Winter[/name]'s middle name [name]Marie[/name] comes to mind. French form or [name]Mary[/name], maybe it was her grandmothers name.

For [name]Jay[/name] I think [name]Jason[/name] works fine but [name]Jason[/name] says teen from the early 90s to me. [name]Jayden[/name] might feel more modern.

And for the would-be boyfriend character [name]Brad[/name] pops into my head. You said he’s an average American teenager, and [name]Brad[/name] to me is like the ultimate average American teenager name. But I’m Australian, so what would I know? LOL

I like [name]Marie[/name] for the middle name! Very fench without being too french

[name]Jason[/name] is the best option I think, and for the other guy I like [name]Alex[/name] or [name]Josh[/name]

I’m not too good with middles, but I do like the [name]Marie[/name] suggestion for [name]Winnie[/name]. I’m on the upper end of teenager-dom right now and it seems like every other girl’s middle name is [name]Marie[/name], including mine, which is after my French-Canadian great-grandmother. So it works both for age and descent.

[name]Jay[/name] could be the nickname for anything that begins with the letter J. [name]Jason[/name], yes, and I’ve heard it for [name]James[/name] too if you’re looking for something a little more timeless. I’m not sure how his parents would’ve named him, but personally I tend to view names as coming from family, so if you have his background established, you could choose a name that fits his parents’ personality and style.

For the last guy, do you want something “normal” and classic to go with his average-guy image? Some common names could be [name]Michael[/name], [name]Alex[/name], [name]Matt[/name], [name]Alan[/name], [name]Nick[/name], [name]Nate[/name], [name]Eli[/name], [name]Josh[/name], [name]Jeff[/name]… Although if you already have a [name]Jay[/name], maybe stay away from more J names so as not to cause reader confusion, unless you really like one for him. Does his father have a name? If he’s trying to push his son into sports, maybe part of his name made its way into the son’s name too, whether first, middle, or both.
