Hello!
Hubby and I are expecting a baby girl early this summer, so we’ve already been on the name hunt for many months! Luckily, we quickly found names we love, and now are facing the arduous task of choosing our favorite. We [name]LOVE[/name] all three of these names and just can’t seem to narrow it down to that lucky final spot. Help?
I think there are pros and cons with each of the names, so here’s a quick break down of our choices:
Fiala [name]Skye[/name] Turetzki: pn fee-[name]AH[/name]-la, I believe this is a Czech name meaning ‘violet’. I absolutely love violets (the flower), but have always found the name too similar to ‘violent’ to be said on an every day basis. Hubby’s mother is also born in February, and the violet is February’s flower. This would be a nice way to honor her (since neither Hubby nor I are very keen on her name…as much as we love her). Also, I think Fiala [name]Skye[/name] (or violet sky) is such a lovely image! It reminds me of those deep purple sunsets that happen sometimes when the clouds are really fluffy - those make my day I guess the con with this name is the pronunciation isn’t clear and its not very well known (I think), but I’m not sure how much of a con that actually is…
[name]Fionnuala[/name] [name]Belle[/name] Turetzki: pn [name]Fin[/name]-OO-la, I’m afraid this name will have way too many spelling issues. (possibly considering Finnula or Fionnoola instead, but I don’t like this as much…although, I might consider Noola or [name]Nuala[/name]) But, I just love the way it sounds and looks! I believe it means ‘white shoulder’, which I think is very pretty and feminine. [name]Belle[/name] is such a stylish and simple middle name to me, and I just love it with [name]Fionnuala[/name].
[name]Mila[/name] [name]Reese[/name] Turetzki: pn MEE-la. While I know that some may not like having Mee and [name]Ree[/name] sounds in the same name, I actually like this name’s flow. For me, [name]Mila[/name] comes from [name]Ludmila[/name], meaning “loved by her people”. I think that the world is becoming more and more global, so to me, ‘her people’ could mean the whole world, and I think then it becomes a lovely name about the world embracing you and allowing you to be yourself. Its also flirty and feminine to me, so that’s why I would pair it with [name]Reese[/name], since that’s quirky, spunky, and a bit more tom-boyish. Its also my brother’s middle name, and he’s my second best friend in the whole wide world (after hubs, of course). My brother actually named his son [name]Alexander[/name] (nn [name]Sasha[/name] - they live(d) in [name]Russia[/name]) and my middle name is [name]Alexis[/name]. I’ve always loved having that connection with my nephew, so I would love to reciprocate.
Thanks for any advice you can give!
