Final 2! Help us find the perfect name!

I am due in a couple weeks with baby #2. Our son is [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]. I have long been obsessed with baby names and have always looked forward to naming a daughter. Turns out, my husband is super picky and vetoes about 99% of my list. I have accepted it because I really want him to love the name too. For a couple of months now, we have been leaning towards [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. We both love [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and the spunkiness of [name_f]Annie[/name_f]. [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is a family name and I think that they go well together. [name_f]My[/name_f] absolute first choice is [name_f]Jane[/name_f] which he vetoed. His number one choice is [name_f]Maya[/name_f]. Now he is really pushing for [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. I think it is cute, but I don’t know that it is my daughter’s name. I worry about the trendiness of [name_f]Maya[/name_f]/[name_f]Mia[/name_f], and that I don’t think [name_f]Maya[/name_f] goes as well with [name_u]Sam[/name_u] as [name_f]Anna[/name_f] does. Out of [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], which would you choose with big brother [name_u]Sam[/name_u]?

[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]! I’m probably biased, since very recently, [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Lenore[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] was on my own list, and I really love the [name_m]French[/name_m] double-barrel [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Claire[/name_f], but [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is so sweet and classic, and I love [name_u]Sam[/name_u] and [name_f]Annie[/name_f] together! Absolutely adorable. [name_f]Maya[/name_f]'s nice, but I agree it doesn’t go as well as [name_f]Anna[/name_f]/[name_f]Annie[/name_f] does, and I like everything about [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] nn [name_f]Annie[/name_f] so much more than [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. Or maybe you could even do something like [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Maya[/name_f]? That would be fun, and you could still use the nn [name_f]Annie[/name_f]… I really love [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f], though.

I agree, [name_f]Anna[/name_f] goes better with [name_u]Sam[/name_u]. They’re both very classic and nickname-y. Maybe you would like [name_f]Maia[/name_f] more?

I would definitely pick [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] over [name_f]Maya[/name_f]. All the spelling and pronunciation variations of [name_f]Mia[/name_f]/[name_f]Mya[/name_f]/[name_f]Maia[/name_f]/[name_f]Maya[/name_f] really put me off. It’s just not as classy as [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. And [name_f]Anna[/name_f] definitely goes better with the classic [name_u]Sam[/name_u]/uel

[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is beautiful and sounds great with [name_u]Sam[/name_u]!

[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is lovely and is a “natural” sister for a [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]. I think your husband may be trying to get you on board with his first choice [name_f]Maya[/name_f] by using [name_f]Jane[/name_f] in the middle. If he vetoed [name_f]Jane[/name_f] in the first place, why does it suddenly pop up now in the middle? I think it may be a trick so don’t fall for it.

[name_m]Samuel[/name_m] and [name_f]Maya[/name_f] sound adorable. I like [name_f]Maya[/name_f] a tad more than [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. [name_f]Annie[/name_f] a a great nickname though, but so is [name_f]May[/name_f] if you choose to shorten [name_f]Maya[/name_f].
Would he go for [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]?
[name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Maya[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f]: I think all of them go well with [name_u]Sam[/name_u]/[name_m]Samuel[/name_m].
have you considered any names that sound like a combo of both? This wouldn’t be a “smoosh” or made up name, but rather another valid girl name that sounds similar to your top choices.
[name_f]Anaya[/name_f] is pretty and sounds like both [name_f]Maya[/name_f] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] but is a real name.
[name_f]Anaya[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Mariah[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]

[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is stunning! I am not a fan of [name_f]Maya[/name_f].

I think that [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is a stunning name! It’s classic and beautiful and fits well with [name_m]Samuel[/name_m].

I dont care for the name [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. I only like [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]/[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]. I do love [name_f]Claire[/name_f] though. So Id have to say between the two Id choose [name_f]Maya[/name_f] although I dont care for [name_f]Jane[/name_f] either. I think [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] would be cute.

I like [name_f]Maya[/name_f] way more as a name but I think [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] sounds great with [name_u]Sam[/name_u]. I’m not really a fan of just [name_f]Anna[/name_f] or [name_f]Anne[/name_f] but I love [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f].

You could do [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], But my vote is [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f].

[name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] would be my pick. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is lovely, but it sounds a bit precious–like a china doll. [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] sounds like a cute, adventurous child!

I love [name_f]Anna[/name_f] with [name_u]Sam[/name_u], but [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is really sweet too. A bit close to [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], but not too close. I think either choice will be great!

[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] hands down!

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] but I am definitely biased as I have my own [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Annie[/name_f]) and my oldest is [name_f]Claire[/name_f]!! Am also considering [name_f]Jane[/name_f] for baby girl due in [name_f]May[/name_f]! [name_f]Maya[/name_f] is certainly fine, but I don’t love it.

I like [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] better, actually. [name_m]Both[/name_m] [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] seem very plain and demure, imo.

I like [name_f]Anna[/name_f] better with [name_u]Sam[/name_u], but when I say [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] I hear “an éclair”. [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] seems like a good comprise since its the name he likes and the name you like. Is there any other way you could both get what you like?
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Maya[/name_f]
[name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] [name_f]Maya[/name_f] or [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f]
