Final 2 names for Baby Girl

This is my first time posting but I spend a lot of time on the site.

My husband and I are expecting our first child in [name]May[/name]. We have narrowed the field of names to 2 for each gender (I will post the boys’ finalists in the other forum). I am seeking your input. [name]Both[/name] girls’ first names have a special meaning; they are both the names of parks where my husband and I spent many happy hours with our families as children ([name]Eleanor[/name] for me, [name]Harriet[/name] for him). The middle name must start with a J (Jewish cultural tradition to honor his recently deceased grandfather). The middles otherwise have no real significance to us except liking them. Our last name begins with a K and is two syllables.

First names:
[name]Eleanor[/name] - this is a special name to me but I’m afraid with [name]Ella[/name]/[name]Ellie[/name] it might feel too popular?
[name]Harriet[/name] - I love this but I fear she’d be called “Har” or “[name]Harry[/name].”

Middles (open to new ideas here as long as the name begins with J).
[name]Jude[/name], [name]June[/name], [name]Jane[/name]

What do you think?

[name]Love[/name] both of them! They were/ are both on my list.

Other nn options for [name]Eleanor[/name] are [name]Laney[/name] or [name]Nora[/name] and for [name]Harriet[/name], [name]Hattie[/name] is a great nn option. [name]Eleanor[/name] is probably more popular than [name]Harriet[/name] because of the [name]Ellie[/name]/ [name]Ella[/name] connection, but you don’t have to call her [name]Ellie[/name] or [name]Ella[/name].

[name]Harriet[/name] [name]June[/name]/ [name]Jane[/name] and [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]June[/name]/ [name]Jane[/name] are all cute.

I actually kind of dig [name]Harriet[/name] [name]Juniper[/name] also.

Of your middle names, I like the [name]June[/name] the best. Have you considered [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]?

I agree that [name]Hattie[/name] is a great nn for [name]Harriet[/name], so maybe you can forestall a Har/[name]Harrie[/name] trend.

For both names I would prefer the full names rather than nicknames, but I like [name]Hattie[/name] and [name]Nora[/name]. I just know I can’t control what others call her (or what she might choose for herself someday)! I really love [name]Juniper[/name]; it’s been on my list forever - I just feel I might not be brave enough to use it. Maybe labor will make me feel powerful enough to take a risk!

I vote [name]Harriet[/name], with the nickname [name]Hattie[/name].
[name]Harriet[/name] [name]Jane[/name] has a sweet, antique charm.

[name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Justine[/name]
[name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Jocelyn[/name]
[name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Julia[/name]
[name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Jerusha[/name]
[name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Jessamine[/name]

Nicknames: [name]Nell[/name], [name]Lena[/name], [name]Ella[/name], [name]Nora[/name] - all wonderful!

[name]Harriet[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Harriet[/name] [name]Jessamy[/name]
[name]Harriet[/name] [name]Justine[/name]
[name]Harriet[/name] [name]Julia[/name]
[name]Harriet[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]

Nicknames: [name]Hattie[/name], [name]Hallie[/name], [name]Hetty[/name], [name]Etty[/name] - Spunky!

I think both are great names! I think it boils down to which “feel” you are going for. To me, [name]Eleanor[/name] seems elegant and sophisticated. [name]Harriet[/name] has a more vintage/old lady feel. I love both! My fav middle name option would be [name]Jane[/name].

To be honest I am not a fan of either names but I feel that [name]Eleanor[/name] is a little nicer because or the nicknames that it could possibly have. [name]Jude[/name] for a girls middle name? [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Jane[/name] is lovely.

[name]Eleanor[/name] [name]June[/name] is my favourite  I also love the nn [name]Laney[/name]. I feel [name]Eleanor[/name] has a softer sound than [name]Harriet[/name] does. But that´s just my opinion  [name]Love[/name] [name]Hattie[/name] as a nn though.

This is hard, I love both! What about [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Harriet[/name] [name]June[/name] or [name]Harriet[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]June[/name]? I really like [name]Eleanor[/name], it will never be trendy with the rest of the ‘[name]El[/name]-’ names, it’s timeless. I think [name]Harriet[/name] is nice, and [name]Hattie[/name] is adorable, but I can’t see [name]Hattie[/name] on a grown woman. That being said, I like [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]June[/name].

[name]Harriet[/name] isn’t bad but [name]Eleanor[/name] is all sorts of gorgeous. [name]Eleanor[/name] happens to be on my short list (I think I have a long short list, lol). [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]June[/name] is perfect!

I think both are wonderful! You really can’t go wrong.
They both have wonderful namesakes, adorable nn ([name]Hattie[/name] and [name]Nora[/name] possibly?) and are timeless.

I like [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Jane[/name].

other suggestion:
[name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Juliette[/name]/[name]Juliet[/name]

I love the middle name [name]Jane[/name] with both of your names. For nicknames, if you start calling them by a nickname (ie. [name]Nellie[/name] for [name]Eleanor[/name] or [name]Hattie[/name] for [name]Harriet[/name]) then that’s what others will call them, too. Personally, I love [name]Harriet[/name] [name]Jane[/name]! I must go see what you’ve chosen for your boys because I love your girls choices!

My pick would be [name]Harriet[/name] [name]Jane[/name], nn [name]Etta[/name].
Good luck!

I like both [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]June[/name] and [name]Harriet[/name] [name]Jane[/name], but I’ll admit that I prefer [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]June[/name] as she’s been my favorite girl name for years.

I don’t get the appeal of [name]Harriet[/name]. Doesn’t sound youthful to me at all.

[name]Eleanor[/name] is beautiful, however. [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Jane[/name] sounds lovely.

I like [name]Eleanor[/name] the most. [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Harriet[/name] sounds cute but if you’re wanting the letter J, I’d go with [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]June[/name].

I was going to suggest [name]Nora[/name] and [name]Hattie[/name] as nn’s for [name]Eleanor[/name] and [name]Harriet[/name], too! (LOVING [name]Hattie[/name] lately!) I really like the suggestion of [name]Harriet[/name] [name]Juniper[/name].

MN’s:
[name]Jemima[/name]
Josophine

[name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Harriet[/name] [name]Jane[/name]

I like [name]Eleanor[/name], there’s a ton of nickname possiblities. I think [name]Hattie[/name] is cute but not a fan of [name]Harriet[/name]
