Thanks to amazing suggestions on a previous post I made, my husband and I have narrowed down our name list to 3 for our baby girl. We needed a name that ended in N to match [name_m]Brian[/name_m], [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] and brother [name_u]Mason[/name_u] and these were the 3 we loved the most.
Emerson
Madelyn
Charleston
My husband is not a fan of nicknames for any of them even though they could all easily be given one ([name_f]Emmie[/name_f], [name_f]Maddie[/name_f], [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]) but we didn’t love any shorter names that didn’t have a popular nickname associated with them. Which name would you choose and what middles names go well with these 3? I would like a short, feminine middle name to go with a 2 syllable last name starting with P but I don’t like a lot of the typical girly middle names like [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Faith[/name_f], [name_u]Marie[/name_u] etc. Thanks so much!
Madelyn [name_f]Claire[/name_f] was my first thought, if it’s not too girly for you. I also like the suggestion of [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u].
[name_f]Madilyn[/name_f] is my personal favorite, however, [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]/Madeline/Madelyn/Madilyn/etc. are pretty common and almost always are called Madi/Maddy.
I like [name_u]Charleston[/name_u] better than [name_u]Emerson[/name_u]
I think [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] is the best fit with her siblings, especially with sister [name_f]Lauren[/name_f]. They are both familiar, tailored, and clearly feminine names with history behind them. They sound like sisters. [name_u]Charleston[/name_u], on the other hand, is remarkably different in style to her sibling names and is almost unheard of. I find the difference quite noticeable between sisters. While I feel the modern unisex vibe of [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] could work very well in this set, I find it ultimately too similar to [name_u]Mason[/name_u]. Especially since your husband would prefer not to use a nickname.
I would continue with classic names for the middle. There have already been some suggestions in this style such as [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. I will just add [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] [name_f]Ada[/name_f], [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] [name_u]Simone[/name_u] and [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] [name_f]Esther[/name_f].
