[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Everyone! I think we have our list narrowed down to 4 final names and I would love some input to help narrow it down even more! As I have mentioned in previous posts our daughter’s name is [name_f]Florence[/name_f]. Our son’s middle name will be [name_m]Robert[/name_m].
You do have quite a range, but honestly I think sibling names “going together” in a traditional way is at times overblown. That being said, I like [name_u]August[/name_u] best with [name_f]Florence[/name_f], possibly best in general. I love [name_m]Giovanni[/name_m], and I think it might be a nice compliment, and [name_m]Kannon[/name_m] is a total guilty pleasure love but feels VERY different from [name_f]Florence[/name_f], if that’s something you care about. (Maybe [name_m]Gannon[/name_m] would look like a better match aesthetically, but I don’t want to add other factors!)
tl;dr: [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Robert[/name_m] makes a stunning brother to [name_f]Florence[/name_f].
I love [name_m]Otis[/name_m] [name_m]Robert[/name_m]! That would be my pick.
I like [name_u]August[/name_u] the least, an old mans name to me and i’m not really into that trend…
I love [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Robert[/name_m].
[name_m]Otis[/name_m] [name_m]Robert[/name_m] and [name_m]Giovanni[/name_m] [name_m]Robert[/name_m] are also nice.
[name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Robert[/name_m] is fantastic. [name_m]Otis[/name_m] would be my second favourite. Both sound lovely with [name_f]Florence[/name_f] too.
I like [name_u]August[/name_u] the best from your list. [name_m]Kannon[/name_m] is my least favorite, mostly for the K replacing the C. I like the suggestion someone else made of [name_m]Gannon[/name_m]. Might also consider [name_m]Gunnar[/name_m]. To “match” with [name_f]Florence[/name_f], I’d steer away from modern/invented spellings. [name_f]Florence[/name_f] reminds me of the 50s and also the Victorian or Regency eras in [name_f]England[/name_f]. I’d say [name_m]Gunnar[/name_m] and [name_u]August[/name_u] fit into the stately style of [name_f]Florence[/name_f] best.
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Robert[/name_m], and Auggie is one of my favorite nns for a boy of all time. It’s weirdly my least favorite with [name_f]Florence[/name_f], but I like it best in general, so it’s getting my vote.
I do love the Italian feel of [name_f]Florence[/name_f] and [name_m]Giovanni[/name_m], but I know a [name_m]Gio[/name_m] that’s sort of put me off of [name_m]Giovanni[/name_m] and [name_m]Gio[/name_m] for a bit. [name_m]Otis[/name_m] I like in general, but prefer as a MN, but [name_f]Florence[/name_f] and [name_m]Otis[/name_m] is really nice!
[name_f]Florence[/name_f] feels very, very vintage to me, so I sort of like that [name_f]Florence[/name_f] and [name_m]Kannon[/name_m] seems like a modern sibset. But [name_u]August[/name_u] is my favorite in general, and “Auggie and [name_f]Florence[/name_f]” is adorable (maybe it’s just the way [name_f]Florence[/name_f] and [name_u]August[/name_u] look? I’m so weird about how sibsets look together!), so he’s getting my vote.
[name_m]Giovanni[/name_m] with nickname ‘[name_m]Gio[/name_m]’ is a favorite of mine, and I love how it pairs with [name_f]Florence[/name_f]. I think [name_u]August[/name_u] pairs equally well, but I just don’t like it as much.
[name_f]Florence[/name_f] and [name_m]Giovanni[/name_m] remind me of [name_f]Italy[/name_f] and warmth.
[name_f]Florence[/name_f] and [name_u]August[/name_u] remind me of British history.
Quite different pairings to me - you could go with either.
[name_m]Odie[/name_m]- I don’t think anyone else will have this name, but it just doesn’t sound nice to me.
Auggie- This is adorable! I love it!
[name_m]Kannon[/name_m]- It seems a little made up. I would like it better spelled with a C, and seems too contemporary next to [name_f]Florence[/name_f].
[name_m]Gio[/name_m]- I don’t think it really matches [name_f]Florence[/name_f], plus it’s not my fave.
