Nearly 30 weeks pregnant with our little girl and we’ve not decided on her name still!
She will be sister to [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] who we call ‘[name_u]Teddy[/name_u]’.
These are our final options:
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] - possible nickname ‘[name_f]Lila[/name_f]’, probably our favourite at the moment that we both agree on.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] but the only nickname I don’t mind is ‘[name_f]Effie[/name_f]’ and I’m not sure if I love it.
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] - My husbands favourite is [name_f]Margot[/name_f], I find it a stunning name but not sure if I can imagine my baby called it. We may use the nickname ‘[name_f]Maggie[/name_f]’, I also adore [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] especially as she will be born in [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] and my middle name is [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] so there is a nature connection.
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]- I love this but husband not fully sold on [name_f]Iris[/name_f], I might be able to convince him!
[name_f]Primrose[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]- we would call her ‘[name_f]Posy[/name_f]’ which I’ve had a lot of negativity about… [name_f]Posy[/name_f] was the first name I loved but sometimes I think it’s a bit fussy…
As you can see I’ve been thinking about this little girls name a lot! Which is your favourite? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any other combination suggestions?
I like [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] best with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]/[name_u]Teddy[/name_u] from your list. I think you could use [name_f]Posy[/name_f] for [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] if you still wanted to use that name. [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], [name_f]Pauline[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Polly[/name_f]), [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] (instead of [name_f]Margot[/name_f]), [name_f]Millicent[/name_f], and [name_f]Minerva[/name_f] are other possibilities that work well with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m].
Of your options, [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] is by far my favorite. [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] go very well together as do [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] and [name_u]Teddy[/name_u]. They just sound like they fit. Plus, you adore the middle name you have chosen, so bonus points. =] All the other options are nice, too, other than [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]. I just can’t get behind that one for some reason. But that’s just my opinion. [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] would definitely be my pick, though.

[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] – [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is really pretty too but agree the nicknames aren’t great.
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] – really nice. I love the nickname [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] which could work for [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and is cute with [name_u]Teddy[/name_u].

[name_f]Primrose[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] – this is the only one I don’t like since [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] is a little too stuffy/cutesy for me.
I think my favorite is [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f], second choice [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. But you have a great short list, maybe you will know when you meet her!

[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] is okay, [name_f]Iris[/name_f] seems a bit precious, and [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] is a bit stuffy to me. I don’t think [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] needs a nickname, though I do agree that [name_f]Posy[/name_f] works. So my picks, in order, would probably be:

I absolutely love [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. However, I must mention that in [name_m]Hamlet[/name_m], violets are the flowers [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] wanted to bring but could not find: “I would give you some violets,
but they withered all when my father died”. I have [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Pansy[/name_f] on my list because this line is one of my favorites, but you might have a different opinion so I thought I’d point it out.
My second favorite is [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f], but I like all of your names except for [name_f]Delilah[/name_f], as I can’t get past the Biblical association. [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] list!

One name that jumped to mind while reading your combinations is [name_f]Viola[/name_f]. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] & [name_f]Viola[/name_f]… [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] & [name_f]Vi[/name_f]. It pulls a little bit from [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], [name_f]Delilah[/name_f], and [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. WDYT?
I have a [name_f]Margot[/name_f], and so it’s easy for me to imagine it as a baby’s name. It never seemed odd to me. She’s not a baby anymore and the name has aged well. Most importantly, she likes it. I was excited to name her that and I’ve never fallen out of love with it.

I think with [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] I prefer [name_f]Iris[/name_f], but on her own I’d have to go with [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. You really can’t go wrong!
