I posted a poll yesterday for little girl due Oct. 2nd. We were going to use Thelma as I middle name basically to make my mom happy as it was my grandmas name but now we want to use Thea, because all our names are too unique. Our older son is Maddox Killian
Help us pick between our top choices.
Thea Amari
August Thea
Abbott Thea (Abby as a likely nickname)
Arrow Thea (DH loves this one but I feel it’s a no because on the show Arrow the main characters sister is Thea)
Amaryllis Thelma
I do I like [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_u]Abbot[/name_u] also, my DH really likes it as a first name I will run it by him though.
[name_m]Arrow[/name_m] [name_f]Thea[/name_f] isn’t completely out, I just don’t know if it’s too on the nose
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_u]Abbott[/name_u] or [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_u]August[/name_u] would be cute. I like [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_f]Thea[/name_f] as well. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have to use [name_f]Thea[/name_f] ? I love the name but I hate that you’re only using it to make your mom happy. Are there other family names you like ?
I actually love [name_f]Thea[/name_f]. I dislike [name_f]Thelma[/name_f] which would make my mom happy. [name_f]Thelma[/name_f] is too old fashion. I feel [name_f]Thea[/name_f] honors my grandma while keeping my style
I like [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_u]Amari[/name_u]. It’s modern and unusual without being too out there. I prefer [name_u]Amari[/name_u] to [name_u]Abbot[/name_u] as it seems more feminine.
Pick [name_f]Thea[/name_f]. [name_u]Abbott[/name_u] reminds me of robot, and [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] doesn’t even sound like a name. [name_f]Imagine[/name_f] her teachers and friends trying to say/pronounce that, I feel like that will just make her life harder than it needs to be. [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] is an object and I’ve only heard [name_u]August[/name_u] on boys. [name_f]Thea[/name_f] is definitely my top pick from this list and in my opinion, the only suitable option. [name_m]Just[/name_m] being honest
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_u]Amari[/name_u] is lovely and I also really like [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f], what about [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] [name_f]Thea[/name_f] or [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f]? I really love [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_u]Amari[/name_u] it sounds fresh and spunky and goes beautifully with [name_m]Maddox[/name_m] [name_m]Killian[/name_m].
[name_m]Just[/name_m] throwing it out there: what about [name_f]Athena[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Thea[/name_f]?
I love [name_f]Thea[/name_f], so it plus any middle is going to be my favorite. And I’m going to disagree with [name_u]August[/name_u] as a choice for a girl. To me it symbolizes an elderly, stern, albeit wise, man and is not the least bit feminine. And I’m a fan of only using month names if the baby isn’t born in the same month as their name. I think it would be confusing for a child to have their birthday in the same month as their name. It would be OK as a middle for me, but not a first name.
I have always liked [name_u]August[/name_u] more for a girl and the only ones are a 20 year old girl and a 6 month baby boy they call [name_u]Gus[/name_u]. But I get that it is masculine. As to the person who suggest [name_f]Athena[/name_f] DH hates [name_f]Athena[/name_f] not sure why
