Final four - help us narrow to two

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Berries, think we have our final four for baby girl - big brother is [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] and twin brother is undecided but probably [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] or [name_m]Malachi[/name_m].

[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] - this is [name_m]Mark[/name_m]'s favourite, it’s been his front runner since we were expecting [name_m]Quentin[/name_m]. Would [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] be too much?

[name_f]Oriana[/name_f] - this feels perfect to me and I’d love to have an [name_f]Oriana[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] but I’m worried it’s too princessy and wouldn’t fit a lot of girls I know

[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] - I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] this for a quirky messy clever little girl but the nn [name_f]Mona[/name_f] puts me off - I really like nn [name_u]Roma[/name_u] though - would this work?

[name_f]Georgina[/name_f] - long time favourite for me, always thought I’d have a little tomboy [name_m]George[/name_m] like the one in the Famous Five books!

What do you think? Which 2 would you keep from the four?

Many thanks,

[name_f]Lara[/name_f]

I would keep
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] One of my all time favorites I love [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] you can call them [name_u]Mal[/name_u] and [name_f]Tillie[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgina[/name_f] I really love this name very pretty without feeling frilly I like [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] and [name_m]Caspar[/name_m]

Overall, I think the four names work better with [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] than [name_m]Malachi[/name_m].

1 [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] - [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] is too matchy with [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]. I find both names have a majestic quality to them.
2 [name_f]Oriana[/name_f] and [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] - yes, it’s frilly but it has a radiant glow about it.
3 [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] and [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] - this name would probably be the best one for versatility because I think it’s fine with [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] too.
3 [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] and [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] - a solid choice but I just prefer the others more.

[name_m]Quentin[/name_m], [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] and [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] or [name_m]Quentin[/name_m], [name_m]Malachi[/name_m], and [name_f]Oriana[/name_f]

I would absolutely keep [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]. They are fabulous, stylish, spunky - everything you’re looking for. [name_m]Both[/name_m] work well with [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] and [name_m]Caspar[/name_m], though rather better with [name_m]Caspar[/name_m].

I vote [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m], [name_f]Lara[/name_f]:

[name_f]Oriana[/name_f] is throwing me because of the “ora” mouth association, but that might just be me. I just can’t say I’m feeling it. It does carry an exotic princess-y vibe, which I really don’t get from [name_m]Quentin[/name_m]. I can see [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] with [name_f]Oriana[/name_f], but I can’t see either with [name_m]Quentin[/name_m].

[name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], and [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] have similar feels, but are perhaps on a continuum. [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] feels somewhat stern and staid, but also playful. (For what it’s worth, [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] is a little bit of a mouthful, and, while I can totally see [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] with [name_m]Quentin[/name_m], I’m having a hard time seeing [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] with [name_m]Quentin[/name_m].) [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] is on the cozier end of the spectrum, but also feels smart and creative. I’m with you on [name_f]Mona[/name_f], but totally see [name_u]Roma[/name_u] as a workable alternative - just make it happen. [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] nickname is [name_u]Romy[/name_u]. (For what it’s worth, I think [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] and [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] is really sweet, too.) [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] is the most elegant of the three and has a quirky [name_u]Brit[/name_u] flair as well. I think [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] feels rather glam, but it works for a tomboy, too. [name_m]Plenty[/name_m] of nicknames, from 80s-ish [name_f]Gina[/name_f] to playful [name_u]Georgie[/name_u] to cozy [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] to perky [name_f]Gigi[/name_f]. (Also, I think [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] and [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] are a great fit.)

I’d probably keep [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgina[/name_f], but considering [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is [name_m]Mark[/name_m]'s favorite, maybe I’d keep that one and cut either [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] or [name_f]Georgina[/name_f]? But I like R and G best with [name_m]Quentin[/name_m]. Huh. [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] is probably my favorite!

(I will just say that I’m having a really hard time seeing either [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] or [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] with either [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] or any of R, G, or M, though like I said, [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] and [name_f]Oriana[/name_f] is a possibility. To me, something like [name_m]Alistair[/name_m], [name_m]Anders[/name_m], [name_m]Beckett[/name_m], [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], [name_m]Cooper[/name_m], [name_m]Conrad[/name_m], [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m], [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], [name_u]Elliot[/name_u], [name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_m]Frederick[/name_m], [name_m]Graham[/name_m], [name_m]Gregor[/name_m], [name_m]George[/name_m], [name_m]Harris[/name_m], [name_m]Harvey[/name_m], [name_m]Holden[/name_m], [name_m]Homer[/name_m], [name_m]Isaac[/name_m], [name_m]Julian[/name_m], [name_u]Jude[/name_u], [name_m]Leon[/name_m], [name_u]Lionel[/name_u], [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m], [name_m]Marcus[/name_m], [name_m]Miles[/name_m], [name_m]Milo[/name_m], [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], [name_m]Otis[/name_m], [name_m]Otto[/name_m], [name_m]Orson[/name_m], [name_m]Patrick[/name_m], [name_m]Rupert[/name_m], [name_m]Roman[/name_m], [name_m]Russell[/name_m], [name_m]Silas[/name_m], [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], [name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m], [name_u]Toby[/name_u], [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m], [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m], and [name_m]Wesley[/name_m] are names I see with [name_m]Quentin[/name_m], and these three girl names. Loving in particular [name_m]Quentin[/name_m], [name_m]Otto[/name_m], and [name_f]Mathilda[/name_f]/[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]; [name_m]Quentin[/name_m], [name_m]Harvey[/name_m], and [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]; and [name_m]Quentin[/name_m], [name_m]Miles[/name_m], and [name_f]Georgina[/name_f].)

I LOVE Malachi and Matilda!! They also fit well with Quentin. They sound nothing alike. The only thing they have in common the the M. Which I think is adorable without being obnoxious. Lyla and Myla is obnoxious, but Lyla and Lily are cute. Get what I’m saying? Plus Tilly is a cute nn for Matilda.

Ramona is my second choice from your list. Roma is a perfect alternative nn for Ramona!! Or even Romy? Romona doesn’t go as well with Malachi, but fits decently with Caspar.

Orianna Elizabeth is GORGEOUS!! Orianna and Malachi go very nicely together. The only thing that gets me is the nn Ori. That is what my brother called horses when he was little. It does not seem too princess like to me.

Georgina is my least fave just due to it being closely related and sounding like George. But if you like that, go for it!!

I would pick [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] or [name_f]Oriana[/name_f] and [name_m]Malachi[/name_m].

I dislike [name_f]Georgina[/name_f], and [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] is fine but [name_u]Roma[/name_u] is a name for the Romani people so I would stay away from that.

I love [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] with [name_m]Quentin[/name_m], [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] and [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] comes in a close second.

I absolutely [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Georgina[/name_f], this is my #1 pick.
#2 would be [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] (large gap between my 2 choices)

Together, as a sib set, I think [name_m]Quentin[/name_m], [name_m]Caspar[/name_m], and [name_f]Orianna[/name_f] are just the ticket! They all have the same “feel” to me… they fit together yet feel super creative and unique. If [name_f]Oriana[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] feels a little too “special,” my observation is that [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] and [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] both feel very, very “special” to me. A girl had better be pretty dainty yet substantive to keep up with those extravagant names!
Try calling her just [name_u]Ori[/name_u]. Or try toughening up the middle name: [name_f]Oriana[/name_f] [name_f]Bess[/name_f], [name_f]Orianna[/name_f] [name_f]Tess[/name_f], [name_f]Oriana[/name_f] [name_f]Elle[/name_f].
I find [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] too matchy in sound and too different in style to be very pleasing together. I like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], (rather than [name_m]Caspar[/name_m]) better as a set.

[name_m]Hi[/name_m][/name_m] Berries, think we have our final four for baby girl - big brother is [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] and twin brother is undecided but probably [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] or [name_m]Malachi[/name_m].

[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is perfect but rule out [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] as a sibling it just doesn’t work.

[name_m]Quentin[/name_m], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and twin brother [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]. I would avoid a C name for Quentins brother as it seems a bit too matchy with the K sound between [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] and [name_m]Caspar[/name_m].

You may like [name_m]Rufus[/name_m] with [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] ie [name_m]Rufus[/name_m] and if you want a C sound in the middle then [name_m]Rufus[/name_m] [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] would fit well.

[name_f]Oriana[/name_f] - this feels perfect to me and I’d love to have an [name_f]Oriana[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] but I’m worried it’s too princessy and wouldn’t fit a lot of girls I know

[name_f]Oriana[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is beautiful what nn would you go with [name_f]Anna[/name_f]?? If so we have [name_m]Quentin[/name_m], [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] nn [name_u]Jem[/name_u].

Sorry I dislike [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] but why not use [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] as [name_m]Quentin[/name_m]'s and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]'s brother? (I am very partial to [name_m]Ramon[/name_m] as it is DH’s name but don’t like it with [name_m]Quentin[/name_m], [name_f]Oriana[/name_f] or [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]. I do think that [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] work better than [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] and [name_f]Oriana[/name_f] but [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is lovely with [name_m]Quentin[/name_m]. Maybe you could go with [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]

[name_f]Georgina[/name_f] - long time favourite for me, always thought I’d have a little tomboy [name_m]George[/name_m] like the one in the Famous Five books!

I have always loved [name_m]George[/name_m] from the Famous Five books but these days i really think that [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] nn either [name_u]Georgie[/name_u] or [name_f]Gina[/name_f] are pretty feminine. Combo of [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].

From your list I like [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f].

From your list, my favorites would be [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgina[/name_f]. [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] is easily my favorite. It is feminine and classic, but unexpected and spunky. I think the nn [name_f]Mona[/name_f] is easily avoidable with [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], because it’s not necessarily the most intuitive nickname–something like [name_u]Romy[/name_u] or [name_u]Roma[/name_u] would definitely feel more natural to me. I think [name_m]Quentin[/name_m], [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], and [name_m]Caspar[/name_m]/[name_m]Malachi[/name_m] make a great set whichever name you choose for her twin! [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] is also a beautiful name–much more overtly feminine to me. It took fits well with her brothers’ names/potential names.

I think [name_f]Oriana[/name_f] is beautiful, but I don’t love it. Maybe it’s a little too close to [name_f]Rhianna[/name_f]? Not sure.

And I have always had a problem with [name_u]Mat[/name_u]-/Mad- names, because the teasing possibilities (especially here in [name_u]America[/name_u]) seem so high :frowning: There was a girl in my elementary school class ([name_f]Madeline[/name_f]) who was known almost exclusively as Fattie [name_f]Maddie[/name_f] by some of the meaner boys in our class. I think it stuck with her well into high school. That said, it’s my personal association with the name and probably doesn’t apply to most people (or there wouldn’t be so many little girls would be named [name_u]Mattie[/name_u]/[name_f]Maddie[/name_f]!).

To me, [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] {love!} is the best match for [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] … followed by [name_f]Ramona[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] the best, even with [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] but I much prefer [name_m]Casper[/name_m] as a boys name (I have [name_m]Casper[/name_m] on my list).
[name_f]My[/name_f] second favourite is [name_f]Oriana[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] together, they are both gorgeous strong names, and not too similar.
[name_f]My[/name_f] second favourite is [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] and [name_m]Malachi[/name_m], though they don’t fit quite as well.

I love [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgina[/name_f], although all your names are lovely.

For [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], I would not use [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] as it seems a little too much like you named them for well known children’s characters.

I prefer both names paired with [name_m]Malachi[/name_m]. Such a strong name.

I would keep [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] & [name_f]Georgina[/name_f]… [name_u]Love[/name_u] them both! [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] is a favourite of mine… [name_m]Just[/name_m] gorgeous.
