I have posted here a few times in my quest for help in choosing both a girl and boy name for my baby due in 6 weeks (gender unknown).
Very helpful posters here - brilliant and nice as can be.
I am finally at peace with the names I have chosen, just wanted to see if you think my sibsets sound ok. Keep in mind - my other 2 children have VERY different style of names and I actually prefer it that way. Each of these names in our sibset represent a little bit of our heritage/ethnicity which is a blend of Italian, Irish, [name]German[/name] and few others. We are not into matchy type sibsets.
I love [name]Willa[/name] and [name]August[/name]. In fact I rallied for [name]August[/name] but my husband wouldn’t consider it.
I actually like that all your names are different. They compliment without being matchy. Congrats.
[name]Love[/name] them both! I think the sibset sounds fine; as you said they’re all from different traditions/styles and I think that’s just fine. I’m not one that thinks sibling names have to match, and it’s not like you’re naming them [name]Sebastian[/name], [name]Cordelia[/name] and [name]Bob[/name].
I tend by default (not by any particular principal : D) to be much “matchier” in style, and reading these lovely names definitely makes me realize all the more consciously that there really is flexibility in what works! Beautiful!
All best wishes as you get ready for little [name]Willa[/name] or [name]August[/name]!
These are a fantastic set. I am a big supporter of not having too matchy sibling sets. I think you have hit the nail on the head. What an intriguing and powerful sounding brood they will be! Really good luck X
