I like [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Eloise[/name] because of the flow. [name]Scarlett[/name] obviously ends in the “lett” sound and [name]Louise[/name] begins with the “loo” sound; to me it’s too choppy with the competing l-sounds. I also think [name]Louise[/name] is still a bit of an “old-lady” name and that extra syllable in [name]Eloise[/name] livens it up
Good luck and congrats! (Also, I have just met a [name]Scarlett[/name] here at college and she is really smart and cute, so I’m getting good vibes from the name lately!)
Thanks so much for your thoughts. Its the one we think sounds better but have a little more meaning with [name]Louise[/name]. Our only reservation with the name [name]Scarlett[/name] is if it gets too popular (top 20)
I think both are nice. I agree that [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Eloise[/name] is livelier, and slightly better flow-wise. In [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Louise[/name], [name]Scarlett[/name] sounds a bit more like an adjective. I don’t get that same sense from [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Eloise[/name], because my ear settles less on [name]Eloise[/name], if that makes any sense. I think you could still honor a [name]Louise[/name] with [name]Eloise[/name]. [name]Scarlett[/name] may be popular (via Ms Johansson) but I don’t think of it as trendy. I find it passionate and substantial.
[name]Both[/name] are nice, but I agree that [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Eloise[/name] flows better. I’m guessing [name]Louise[/name] is the name with meaning? I think [name]Eloise[/name] could still honor a [name]Louise[/name]–[name]Eloise[/name] practically has [name]Louise[/name] in it.
Good luck!
