Final short list!

We are having a very hard time naming this little girl…we have cut and added names to our list numerous times over the last few weeks but I think we have a good idea of the final contenders. Which of these names sits best with [name_m]Luke[/name_m]?

[name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] (would most likely use a nn, just not sure what?
[name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] (as a variation of [name_f]Mary[/name_f])
[name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] (or spelt in the biblical way: [name_f]Phebe[/name_f]. The biblical spelling is in our family tree, but wouldn’t want people thinking we are trying to be unique with spelling??!)
[name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Lexi[/name_u]/[name_u]Alex[/name_u]/[name_f]Alexa[/name_f])
[name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Penny[/name_u])

[name_f]Frances[/name_f] in the middle spot.

Or any other suggestions? Not sure if asking this will just add to our indecisive-ness!?

I like both [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Miriam[/name_f], and prefer [name_f]Miriam[/name_f]. [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] is lovely.

tfzolghadr, did the girl you knew in college go by [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] solely or a nickname as well? I really wanted to use [name_f]Mary[/name_f] but thought [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] would be a ‘fresh’ alternative.

All of your names are beautiful and they all go well with [name_m]Luke[/name_m]. I love the middle name [name_f]Frances[/name_f] – that’s my daughter’s middle name.

I suggest [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] over [name_f]Phebe[/name_f] to save spelling headaches.

[name_f]Miriam[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is beautiful. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is also great and there are many many nicknames.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] reviewed your final list again. I’d choose [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] as my least favourite but adore the others.

I love [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] (I prefer this spelling). The others are great, but I don’t really like them with [name_m]Luke[/name_m].

Ohh, [name_f]Miriam[/name_f]! I’m really digging the combo of [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Miriam[/name_f]. [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] is beautiful.

Thanks everyone, I am quite happy to go to the hospital with a 3 or 4 name shortlist and see what we feel is right when bub is born. It has just taken us so long to get to these 5 names. [name_m]Just[/name_m] to cut two more and we’ll be set :slight_smile:
